Is the "bad hand" a single instance character?

If you get lucky enough to get the Bad Hand from the dark tributes rewards, is that just one instance of that character and if he dies you have to luck into another? Or is it just a very rare chance at permanently unlocking this Legendary hunter? Am dumb so if they said it in stream I didn't hear it/remember it.

Legendary Hunters are generally unlocked the moment you get them;
Once acquiring them in any way (apparently that way too now, unsure!), you'll have them unlocked permanently, you can simply buy them for 200 hunt dollars afterwards to get more of the same hunter to play.

Well I thought the same that legndaries unlock but I got a single use (not unlocked permanently) of a legendary winfield I didn't own (the golden vandal).

I had the regular winfield vandal unlocked, but not the legendary I received. They said so in the stream that you might get instances of legendaries rather than unlocks and that looks like what happened with the winfield C leggy I got, I'm just wondering if the new hunter is going to be a perma unlock or just an instance

When it comes to the Hunter, it's a skin unlock. So you'll get one of him added to your roster immediately and can recruit him from that point forward. Only the Items/Weapons fall into the "Instances" reward category.

Yeah they don't seem to be messed up enough to give an instance of Bad hand. It's an unlock for getting that lucky. Everything else though can be instanced or an unlock. It just depends on what you get rewarded.

For the Legendary Weapons I believe it is just you getting the weapon, you don't unlock it permanently; I got the Snake Something crossbow and I can't buy anymore, even though I've unlocked it.

The Legendary hunter specifically points out it is only unlocked through dark tributes, so I'd imagine this is how you keep it unlocked.

For the Legendary weapons you can get either the skin itself unlocked or a single instance of the weapon.
