Game "updates" almost every time I launch

Almost every time I launch Hunt, the small steam "updating" box appears as if a patch or fix is being downloaded even though there isn't one. It usually goes for about 2-3 min. before launching the game like normal. Tried reinstalling, deleting download cache, validating game files, nothing works. Any help appreciated.

Bump. I am still having this problem every time I launch the game. Does anyone have any sort of guess as to why this is still happening to me?

I have the same problem. It doesn't happen every time, but it seems like every second time or so. It can also not be an IP change through a VPN or similar, which triggers the anti cheat software. I have tested that. So far I could not see any pattern why it happens.

I am having this same problem where it is "downloading content" every to every other launch. I can't find any solutions.

are you playing on linux or something ? my steam deck does the same prtty much with any game, it just loading shaders or something like that

I just started having this issue, anyone find a fix?

Edit:

I uninstalled and removed all easy anticheat folders. I had installed easy anticheat with another game and it was causing issues with both. I reinstalled easy anticheat using the files provided in the hunt showdown folder. I verified files and have not had this issue for 3 days now. I will update if it pops up again.

4/16/25 : It returns . . .
