It helps to scout things from a safe distance like approaching a compound and checking if people already interacted with anything in there, checking towers or other high ground from a big distance to see if anyone is camping there
I don't really have a lot of good ideas how to buff or change the spyglass to be more useful or less situational but i thought of ability to use dark sight while using it would be convenient since you're basically unarmored with it anyway
Or maybe having a rangefinder on it? would help sniping

Pinging with spyglass giving a tag on the enemy themselves that tracks them for a few seconds

The thing about it though it is just one of those appendages that existed when the game was...better. It was there because no guns had scopes. It was the only way to scout people at long range but now you can just take a scoped rifle. Spyglass does still have better zoom I think, but no gun attached to it.
