Hunt: Showdown 1896

How to see at night in Hunt: Showdown 1896?
We have a new engine update and with it came new lighting system. Surely I'm not the only one having trouble seeing at night? I used to see things just fine before the big update. Any of you found solutions (mainly Nvidia users) to brighten up things a little in night time? Currently everything is so black I can't see anything in the woods or inside buildings, rendering night time maps pretty much unplayable for me. Turning up gamma helps a little bit with overall visibility around light sources but even the slightest shadow and it is pitch black. Running pretty much low settings.

Care to share if you have found any solutions? I'd rather not burn my retinas with full blown brightness and gamma.

i just leave at the start of the match.
the new map has just made camping even worse, so if i see or hear night, i just quit while it says "waiting for hunters" and i don't lose my stuff.

See, I don't want to do that myself, I think night time is part of the Hunt experience and has its place in the game. I'm looking for technical solutions to this new found issue with the game I like very much.

Its dark. You're supposed to have trouble seeing. Shoot a flare up in the air.

Turn your lights off in the room so there is no screen glare.

I could do that, but I'd rather not sit in a dark room when it's daytime in real life, not to mention how bad the eye strain is when you do that. I'm not so young anymore and I don't do that.

Other players on the server seem to see just fine without flairs constantly being fired in the air. I do try to utilize that, I have utilized flares extensively since Hunt came Early Access on Steam, however the this darkness of all shadows have become an issue only after this new big update. I'm looking for any technical solutions people might have. Thanks for the input though.

I see perfectly fine at night (as well as anyone can at night, of course), so it must be your screen. Mine isn’t great, but I specifically chose one with no glare. Unless the sun is shining directly on it, I'm fine. So, either upgrade your screen or get good curtains to darken your room when you play night maps.

I know my monitor is not the best (it's benq xl2411 144hz), used to be totally fine with old hunt night maps, a non-issue kind of thing, however things seem to be much different now for some reason. Other games I can see just fine in badly lit conditions. Just wondering if there are tweaks to make things more bearable.

Unfortunately in new Hunt turning up gamma only helps so much. I feel like bumping gamma doesn't work as good as it used to with this new engine lighting. I don't know..

If you're using HDR at night, turn it off and bump up dark stabilizer on your monitor. I only use HDR on day maps as using it on night maps is way too dark.

No HDR usage here, it is a greyed out option for me, thanks though!

I find it weird nobody else is having bad issues with pitch black shadows after the update, I'll need re-check my monitor settings and set up a profile just for Hunt and see if that works.

In the meanwhile, if you guys still have any tips or tweaks, feel free to post them, might help others too.
