How do I solo
I work 2 jobs and don't have any days off. Usually have about 2-4 hours before needing to go to bed for work the next day. But today is Labor day so I have a whole day to myself :)

However how does someone get better? I keep throwing myself in matches but get ganked, outplayed, or something dumb happens like I slide off a rock and land on top of a hunter and get smacked.

I feel like I may as well main being dad vibes and sticking to watering my lawn at this point

I really like this game due to the lore and weapons that are shown since mechanically wise there very nice to look at

Well first you need to land in your stars rating, then you should be able to face people that'll allow you to eventually learn.

Cartoon moment XD I had once situation when I decided to jump from the cliff, so they won't get kill to stats. I survived. More: my pursuier followed me for some unknown reason and got melee killed by me.

Anyway, you need to understand you are not rambo, you are partisan. You need to train envinroment awarness, predict where they can be, train your hearing and perception. It's about your head. Will benefit in life too.
About how to play: be quick, be pretty sneaky (not constant crouching), train aim, get used with one gun (Frontier silenced, vetterli, conversion, pick the most suiting you), use stim shot (infinite stamina for 5-10 minutes), do not stay on one place more, than 5-10 seconds, constantly move, do not peak from same window or crack twice, try to be unpredictable (you peeked from one window, so don't peek from next to it window, it's obvious).

And most important thing: admit loses and analize why you lost. Were it because you've got caught on open space? Were it just unluck? Were it because you were on one place too much? Were it because you made a lot of sound and throw away your position? Etc. etc.

Do not rely on perks, if you wanna get better. Otherwise you will become depended on them.

Yeah the game is very hard for a solo player. I really recommend to maybe get some of your friends to buy it as well. It will boost the experience by 200%.

I would even recommend to play with a random duo mate, because some small mistakes would be less lethal.

But if you really want to go the solo route:
1. What is your playstyle?
More tactical, sniping or running shotgun? You like to plan ahead and place traps ect? Define that and adjust your loadout.

2. Watch some overall tips and tricks to for the game
How to know, where the boss would be? How to know where people already passed by? How to kill horses with a lantern etc. By by playing solo you need to read the map perfectly.

3. Train a little in the practice mode
There you can shoot with different weapons and test things. Even train your aim.

4. Some traits are very VERY important for a solo player
You can "sell" all the traits on your Hunter and use it for Necro. That will give you the ability to revive yourself once. So you have a second try. Packmule is also very good, because you can get 2 lootable items from a lootbox or a body. Just watch some Youtube about the traits and you will know whats kinda good for a solo.

But most importantly: HAVE FUN!
If you do not have any fun tryharding...improving would be useless. Fun comes before being good. In some cases being good becomes boring...

Just chill and try different things, guns, tactics. You improve naturally among the way :)

Well for me I can find people before they can find me and go from there. The problem is trying to get a hit. I can land a hit or two but not enough to kill them. I don't have the god skill of flicking on someones head with a uppercut like how I see these livestreamers or youtubers.

I'm just me

Well sometimes its more important to get into good position. If you know how to move and where, if you can hit them from the side while they are standing you don´t need the best aim.

Maybe run a silenced Nagant Pistol or Veterelli and shoot the AI among the way. It will give you some muscle memory.
And of course in the practice mode. Run around 5-10min before you start your hunt. Move and shoot the head and youll get warmed up. That might just give you a little edge to get some kills.

(AND headshots are everything in that game. You dont need perfect aim. You just need to hit once. The head.)

Better hit twice, than miss 5 times. Better aiming at upper chest.

Also necro is hurting a lot improving, because with necro player have the hope for a mistake can be fixed. Without it player trains to do all correct from the first try. And as I've said, perks easy makes player depended on them, it's a bad thing.

Queue up for random trios. Unironically will make you a better player. Even if you get bad teammates, it's a whole team you won't have to worry about in the match.
