FPS drops from 180 to 20
Hello everyone, I like the new update a lot honestly, but FPS drops are hilarious and doing game unplayable during gun fights.

My PC specs:
CPU: Ryzen 5700X3D
GPU: RTX 3070ti
RAM: 32 GB 3200 Mhz
Storage: NVMe SSD
Resolution: 2560x1440
NVIDIA driver: latest 560.94

My graphic seetings:
— DLSS: performance
— General preset: High
— Anisotropic filtering: 8x
— Shadow quality: Medium
— Shadow filtering: Medium
— Global lighting: Medium
— Fog quality: Medium

I have ~180 FPS on spawn point and some locations, average framerate is ~120, but sometimes it drops to 50-60 FPS and yesterday I faced up with huge drop to 20 FPS on Graystone Pit location: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3322734541

My teammate with Ryzen 5600 and 4070 has not faced same problem and plays with comfort on ~130 FPS without any drops. I badly hope for soon optimiation fixes :NekoWaifuSad:

Check your graphics memory usage ingame - I think it's a bit high. Had the same problem a few days ago and turned the graphics down to low, applied the changes and set it back to ultra. Worked for me but I don't want to have this problem again. (And yeah, same location, while fighting spider)

I'll check the graphics memory soon, sounds legit. But how setting graphics to low and back to ultra helps with it? I don't get it

Maybe there is a better solution but it worked for me somehow. Hope they fix it, I don't want to have this again when other hunters are nearby.

Take this with a grain of salt, because I have no hard evidence, but it seems that whatever they are doing for lighting is tanking performance. The moment there are multiple intense light sources on screen, the performance ♥♥♥♥♥ itself. The game also has a ton of strange god ray effects going on now that not only look bad, but can make the experience kind of miserable at times. I vastly preferred lighting from before the engine change.

I've got a 5600x/4080 and I see swings in fps from like 180 to under 60 at times.

I have 3070ti as well. Someone said that changing vram usage limit from 90 to 80 fixed the extreme fps drops like in your post and it worked for me. I'm on 60.81 though.

i ran this game better in 2018 with my first laptop on a 770 than i do now on my PC with a 3070ti. It's unacceptable on cryteks part.

It started happening to me with this new nvidia driver. I was getting great frames on ultra and now it tanked to 20 fps

got the same issues since the update. Got the latest nvidia patch and a 3080... even with DLSS high performance mode and everything to mid/low graphics it hit's sometimes from 180 to 55/60 fps... sucks big times

People are reporting extreme fps drops with the 560.94 drivers on other games too.
It is an nvidia driver issue

Same problem. Do not know what the hell to do. Have been tinkering with all kinds of settings, even in BIOS. Nothing helps, reinstalled the game and same problem. FPS jumps between 30 and 150.
There is something in the game that is taking the piss.

Same... Before the Patch I had 144fps. This patch has made the game unplayable for me. I, idiot, bought the new season pass to support the developers. I haven't been able to play a single round since this new update and my season pass was probably for nothing. If I could, I would get a refund for the game.
limited ur FPS to 70-90 problem solution

I had the same problem and I tried activating v-sync and haven't had the fps drop since. This may be a coincidence but it's definitely trying. PS, I also lowered all my settings to medium except object quality and texture quality (which I have set to ultra).

Unfortunetly, all your suggestions didn't help me with FPS drops(( Last thing is to install much older Nvidia driver, but before its update for Hunt Showdown I had much worse drops, so I'll hope for Ctytek and optimization fixes

Thank you all for a feedback!
