Yup, my main gripe with this game now too.

In Crytek's mind, it's ok to have a 6 star and 3 star against a solo 5 star because of 'team averages'. So I die EVERYTIME because the 6 star has the skill AND numbers advantage (2v1). Apparently that's balanced.

Not to mention I die several rounds in a row now, MMR stays the same. After DAYS of constant dying, my MMR finally drops to 4 star. I now get a one single successful round and 3 kills. Back up to 5 star for me and constant death for the next few days. Such fun...

I don't know why Crytek don't simply put the old MMR system back, and to get around players deliberately de-ranking, simply have Soul Survivor not affect your MMR score at all. There, fixed, noone can easily abuse it anymore.

Came here to make the exact same post, but you beat me to it. The matchmaking is fast, but its complete ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. Although its less of a Crytek and more because of some part of the player base. Smurfing is as popular as ever. They at least broke the necro cheese. Sadly people are usually more focused on having easy dominate matches (a problem that is further deepened by the twitch crowd as they prefer to see people dominating matches) so... Even if you look at the stars they are funny. I frequently see people with 2 stars and like 5 hours in the game playing like an absolute pro. And not talking about the aim (although arguably in hunt that is not as easy as in other shooters), but actual game sense that you can only pick up with experience. Alas it was always like this so. I already uninstalled it was nice to check the new engine, even though the UI is a piece of ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ too.

TL:DR - yes matchmaking is still unfair.

So you and your teammates are 2-3 stars and you get enemy squads of 3 people with 5-6 stars? Are your sure about that?

Yea i used to be 5 star before the MMR changes, and a KD of 1.86.
I've now dropped to 1.62 KD and im STILL 5 star. I literally die to headshots the first second in every fight. Everyone i meet have laser aim and reaction times of 0.02 seconds. I can't keep up im in way above my skill level here.

It's not skill lmao People are literally cheating and exploiting. There's a vid on Reddit circulating rn where supposedly you can make all Hunter body textures turn completely white, an exploit that is said to be repeatable according to this games cheating discords... which this game has because a lot of the playerbase cheats and plays with cheaters lol

their so call anti-cheat is prolly never updated lmao and they only updated the game itself and not the system it uses to track cheats , so if ppl are still cheating according to alot of ppl then its most likely true . if one or two ppl claiming cheating then its not , common sense , but the way i see it , seems like AIM BOT is a common theme in this game , alot of ppl land either lucky shots or have AIM BOT to help them land those head shots otherwise u can't explain someone who just played the game and has 200 hours or so compared to someone with over 1000 hours of experience , its not rocket science . its not that they are good its sketchy af

Not really, I was put in a Sole Hunt with 4 other players that were 5 - 6 Star, yet lost to 2 - 3 stars. I am a 3 star and winning the entire match. Dont be fooled, even 5 - 6 stars can have bad days and have a poor game.

i've seen mixes of 6*s and 3*s but normally thats because they have a 3/4 star bringing their match mmr down. never full teams of 5's and 6's against full teams of 3's and 4's.

Also dont forget that randoms party is WAY worse than party with your friends because you can use discord and randoms can only point somewhere and use voice comms in close quarters so it makes sense to balance it out somehow.

im 1 star and i get put with 3-6 stars that are all lvl 60+ or whatever. its kinda brutal at times its like theres 1-2 duos that are wayyyyyy better then the rest and just dominate the whole raid

the issue is getting your mmr to change back down at the same rate it goes up. after a few good games I went from 4-6 star. try getting relegated again. just night after night of god aim and wall bangs

to be fair it is the quickest way to teach a 2-3 star player the game quick. because you never learn fighting less capable player but rather more capable.
