Hunt: Showdown 1896

Hunt: Showdown 1896

Shotguns are making absolutely no sense to me in this update.
Whether Crytek documented it or not, they've clearly changed something with the spread / consistency of shotguns since changing the game.

I just died to a Rival from 25 meters, buckshot (not slugs, before you ask). First shot hits me, taking a small bar. Second shot, I'm dead. 125 damage from 25 meters with this thing. How?

The amount of times I'm being whittled down by someone levering a terminal from around 30 meters is absurd. They see you, fire, hitpunch you to ♥♥♥♥, and you're dead before you can get to cover or chamber another shot.

Shotguns are already the king of close quarters, so it's pretty crazy they're now excelling at mid range.

No one cares about long ammo anymore dude. Go back to 2018 and complain there. Of course, if you can't hit headshots, it would make sense why you're upset about it.

A rival could always two tap you at 25 metres. The spread is the same but the recticles now represent it properly. They did slightly increase damage retention over distance because before shotguns were useless outside of 15 metres which made no sense.

Shotgun changes are good and make sense since they were underpowered before. They are nowhere near "excelling at mid range".

They still one tap in the same range and can now two tap a bit further. Every single weapon besides the bornheim can two tap you at a much further range than shotguns so its in no way OP.

I'm not sure what I said to you to get you so angry from the start, but go off, I guess.

Shotguns have been the undisputed kings of close quarters, which is why it made sense from a balance perspective that they didn't have realistic range. And considering how strong so many of the sidearms are, and continue to be, it's not like you're at a serious mid range disadvantage, unless you're trying to snipe people with the current bullet drop changes.

But I don't see the shotgun range being healthy for this game in the long run, because it's the weapon that requires the least amount of skill to use, and making it easier to use is just going to continue dropping the skill floor.

Yes they are the king of close range because that's what they are good at. They suck outside of like 30 meters. before they sucked outside of 20 meters.

Shotguns are powerful in close range the same way that long ammo is powerful at long range. The exception being that long ammo is still pretty good at close range while shotguns are useless at long range.

You are wrong that they don't require skill. They require less aim but you need to be very good at positioning and rotating to be good with a shotgun.

The changes are very healthy and in no way too powerful. Again you can two tap someone with a compact ammo pistol at further ranges than with a shotgun.

Go to shooting range and check rival there and you'll see where and why you're wrong.

"danger always looks bigger through the eyes of fear"

I've read here all sorts of stories about usual cheaters, ping abusers (cheaters), immortal cheaters, teleporting cheaters - now its shotguns that obliterate nabs through whole compound :lunar2019grinningpig:

shotguns are fine

At 25 meters? No. I use almost only shotguns and thats not a thing lmao. You're probably getting shot by someone else. There should be a damage report giving you a breakdown, but if you test this in the shooting range on dummies or a friend, youll see its just not a thing.

Pick shotgun and try to deal with rifle dudes in woods or cliffsides, lol. You will understand (if you are willing to do so) why you are wrong.

Yhe shotguns are more op than before. If you want to play rifle now you must take medium sizez shotgun or at least lemat pistol (they buffed kill range of it to 10 meters) or even 2 lemats if you got quartermaster. Pushing Boss lair is impossible now without shotguns. Btw shotgun players were handicapped by range before, now you can headshot with pistols at any range so rifles become kinda obsolete to be honest unless you are lucky to fight bounty team on open field. Even with slugs you can easly snipe ppl to the head up to 100m now.

No its not unless you have a skill issue. there are more than enough options available to you to pus ha boss lair. Also you don't always have to push. They have to get out eventually.

Yhe wasting consumables worth more than bounty token or camping for 30 minutes for bounty team to leave their nest is all you can do... Sitting in the corner for 30 minutes with op shotgun is skill issue my friend. You either push lair or watch yt for most of the round and i prefer to push and dont waste time.

How is it "wasting"? And what consumables do you think are more expensive than a token? Also you don't have to camp. If they just don't come out you can literally leave.

If you find shotguns OP just play shotgun. Problem solved. The people in the lair don't want to run into your long ammo outside the same way you don't want to run into their shotguns.

Again pure skill issue.
Chinek Sep 2, 2024 @ 3:22am
If you read my 1 post you would see that i play shotgun as second weapon because thats only viable option. I guess you are too dumb to notice that most of the guns need skill to actually hit while shotguns dont... Typical skill issued, brain dead shotgun main player.
