Pretty sure the death recap doesn't differentiate between the tool bear traps and the map-found bear traps. It'll just show up as "Bear Trap"

The ones found on the map have the original low damage + heavy bleed, but the ones you can equip as tools do 82* damage + medium* bleeding. Two of the tool equipped bear traps will do 150+ damage instantly, and it'll show up as 150 damage from a bear trap as the damage.

Exactly this. Multiple traps will be shown as a single one if you run into them in a short time window and two bear traps do enough damage for that.

Okay so we get rid of the Nitro, of headshots, of all shotguns, on long ammo once you're downed, on alert trip mines next to red barrels, we also get rid of fall damage because then you're a one tap to a sparks ..

Like dude you're mad that you died towards a bear trap, I get that. But as I said there're traits that highlight them in dark sight so you can actually counter it. So stop being so sad about the game and please stop crying, you're making a fool out of yourself with that behaviour ..

I mean I tested the bear trap with my friend by walking into them individually a few times in a match and it always dealt ~35 damage or so+bleed. Should it deal like 75 on another player, that's funny and will replace the mine meta which was completely crippled by the patch for no reason because dying to concertina+poison was certainly the one thing that kept the game from being fun.

You can now easier just sprint through them without dying. I think you have to basically stop inside them to die. It was kind of that way b4 but I think its now even easier just not to die vs poison+concertina without an antidote running.

I've got about 4k hours, so I've played a little bit. Have yet to see anyone stick them under the ground or floorboards. While I'm sure it's possible in certain locations, it's never been an issue for me.

Anything that one shots is bs? Better get rid of headshots and shotguns then, better yet, just change this whole game to CoD. People hardly use stealth, traps, or strategy anymore anyways. It's all spammy run'n'gun nonsense.

and if you played for 4k hours you knew that before this "update" beartraps didnt insta kill you no matter how many you put on the ground you would bleed to death after 5-6 seconds sure, but insta death upon hitting 2 beartraps that are placed on top of each other is pretty moronic if you ask me

I think you don't know what "hypocrite" means, how was I being hypocritical? You have a problem with one shots, I do not. Pennyshot derringer is fine, it only works if you put it in their mouth first, and is again, a shotgun. You have to close the gap and put yourself at a big risk/disadvantage to use it. Spear needs a damage nerf to not allow one shots over larger distances or limb hits, more in line with throwing axes.

Yes, the game is an absolute mess right now, this update is widely accepted as a failure. But the traps needed a buff honestly, they were useless on their own. If you legitimately can't spot two bear traps side by side, you really need to slow down and open your eyes. Or start using Vigilant.

As for your comments on my playtime, I have 3,771.4 hours on record, most of which were before 2023. Due to the massive increase in cheaters I've more or less stopped playing this year. Considering you have 5 jesters, the mark of the cheater, I would be willing to bet you use. And before you go off about how awards don't mean anything and you got them for trolling or being "a funny guy" I will simply let you know that many people use them to mark cheaters when companies like Valve and Crytek won't do it.
