I never mentioned anything about a deathmatch
a deathmatch mode would be counter-productive and would not teach the player how to survive and thrive
I think that the cap for new players should be increased up to say LvL 75 and they only go up against players that level and below.
It's sad seeing 1 & 2 star players in the same round as me in Randoms. I'm currently 4MMR with close to 3000 hours.
I cannot imagine it being fun at all for newer players.
other game modes like TDM or what you are suggesting are just fun for a maybe an hour before people will get bored and never touch it again. hunt just has another community. we dont need really need fast paced game modes imo.
i suggest shooting AI once you clear the server to train your aim.
'aiming' isnt the point. I have good aim. I was gm in overwatch and have multiple nukes in cod games. The point is to get good at gunfights, ie decision making/positioning/looking in the right directions/knowing where people will be and what equipment to use etc. Ive quickly learned that in this game my aim only goes so far
I never said anything about a tdm deathmatch type mode if you read my post, however a 3v3 elimination type mode being 'fun for maybe an hour before people get bored' is kind of the point. the point of the mode wouldnt be to overshadow the hunt mode, it would be purely for practice and maybe messing around here and there. Hunt mode is the staple and what makes this game unique and intriguing, so ideally a majority of the playerbase SHOULD be there. I just want a way to practice gunfights. no mmr is fine, because I don't mind playing against good people (in fact I would learn faster that way) I just mind the time investment required
I only play for the PvP but a team death match mode wouldn't be as fun and just be another generic shooter. It's the setting and how you can play however you wish at any time.
A horde mode would definitely be fun but would need way more types of AI and new servers to be put in place.
The servers currently Devs had to reduce AI and how they spawn because of performance issues. Hence why AI pops in and doesnt spawn unless players are in the area
If you want to practice PVP and so on, you can also do training range with someone (either a friend or ask someone to on reddit or here whateva), with infinite respawns at randomized locations.
If you ask me, all the PVE variables, PVP chaos with multiple players in lobby, and intentional lack of knowledge for where the boss is all make the game more enjoyable. COD is there if you just want to shoot people the whole time.
The point isnt to overshadow the hunt mode, the point is for it to be a practice/warmup mode that gets you prepared for the hunt mode. I completely agree with everything you said about what makes hunt showdown special, but none of that invalidates the desire for something akin to a low-stakes low-reward 3v3 elimination gamemode intended for practice
