Martini-Henry IC1 vs Sparks LRR
Hello,
What do you think about these weapons after patch?

Looking over the stats of both weapons, same ammo, same range, difference : dmg 6, reload time 1s.

Before patch I never killed someone with MH, but now I think thaz MH is better ratio price/effectivity. Special Deadeye MH.

what I love about the martini is the repose variant, light clicks still swing blade, so you can run around and just light attack AI, it is also the only bayonet version of a weapon that can 1 hit to the chest with a heavy attack, I think it's 163 dmg for the heavy attack

-$8 for -133 m/s and 1 second off reload. I don't see a reason to use it except for the variants if you want them.

It's all about the scope. Do you want marksman (better at short range) or sniper (better for crouch walkers / potatoes) at long range.

Both are win/win to anyone who is patient enough to pick their battles.

Disagree about muzzle velocity ... I'm garbage. Let's start there.

300 meters per second
400 meters per second
600 meters per second

What a garbage stat when the entire map is 1,000x1,000 meters and bullets disappear after 250-ish (300?) meters.

we're talking about fractions here .. fractions ...

Got macros bro?
Got a TI-89 calculator handy?

I mean serious. Either people are moving or they're not.

<<The Martini Henry Riposte is better for medium and close ranged fights than the Sparks though.>>

My drunk arse has to respond again and say .. yes, no argument there. I'm also a neanderthal.

I can get a gun that has long ammo that does the same damage as a sabre all in one? well count me in!

The problem is are you getting domed at 200 meters by a scope or some dude/chick with a sabre?

Sorta relevant. It's situational. I would summarize and say if you like the benefit of the scope t hen the marksman on the martini henry / lebel is a great option if you like to shoot and move (closer). The sniper scope just prohibits view too much.

Finally .. if you're inside 100 meters just go iron sight (martini riposte).

if you have the points ... quartermaster is amazing for sawed off mosin (medium) or shotgun (short) as a secondary.

I had two guys try to use the Martini Henry at perhaps 100 meters away or so. They couldn't land a hit as their targets kept moving (my partner and I).

I used MH just whole yesterday and I have a lot of kills, but not woth normal or marskmen, but only with a deadeye. I try it at fast combat, at long range snipe but I had feeling like no scope or marksman are a little bit slower than deadeye.

for 100 meters take the MH with Iron Sigth. Dont play the LSR so much, but the Martini is a nice gun.

I love the Sparks and the Martini Henry.
it doesnt matter if the stats are not indicating much of a difference,
there is no doubt that the Sparks is better for longer distances.
you need to compensate much more with the Martini Henry and you can even feel the slight delay that it takes the bullet to reach the head which you dont feel with the sparks from same range.

Depends imo. I really like sparks, but i'll play martini deadeye and martini bayonet anyday. Sometimes i just buy the martini because i like the sound :)

I used the Martini Henry Deadeye a couple of times too and one match, I got 3 headshots at around medium range but other times, the low muzzle velocity kept on making me miss shots at close range.

So yeah, it's a tricky gun to use.

Yep, its tricky and meter per secong is really treacherous.

So I've been going back and forth for the last couple prestiges and I agree with most of the discussion. The martini is better for a medium range as the reload speed typically means you'll have your shot ready before the person with the sparks, possibly giving you an advantage. I also find the iron sights have slightly better visibility (I don't use scopes).

You do feel the lower muzzle velocity compared to the sparks and for long range sparks is superior. I rock sparks/officer or sparks/lemat until I can do martini/saber. Personally I think you'll do fine with either, I prefer the martini (coming from a previous vettereli main though)
