Games are supposed to be fun, being good at them is secondary, unlike competitions, which are not about having fun but about winning, which you have to be good at. Sometimes I wonder how this misconception has become ingrained in so many people's minds. The industry and marketing have certainly played a big part in this.
In order to make this game a fun pve game, you would need to completely redesign the entire game. At that point, just play a different game. Go play New World. PvE players already ruined that one nicely for you.
I'm not sure why you are suggesting I should play a different game, I enjoy this game very much despite being a beginner. I'm also not asking for any more PvE elements or changes to the game, please read the comment again if that helps you.
My comment was exactly and solely related to what I wrote, which is that games are primarily for having fun, while competition is indeed about winning.
Of course, you can play the same game in a competitive environment, or you don't. Have you ever been out and had fun playing football or other games that are popular in your area? If not, I highly recommend it. It's a lot of - guess what - fun.
We players in the lower tiers like to play for fun and with the new update it's even more fun. People don't play competitively on these tiers. That's a fact, my friend.
To say, "This is a competitive game. The fun comes from competition" when you're not referring to some tournament or league or something is also factually incorrect. Random games with random people, regardless of the skill involved, is not competitive. It's a casual game, nothing more. This is just another aspect of the misconception that has become ingrained in so many people's minds.
A bonus question for you to think about: Do you think competitive athletes tell people who play the same sport just for fun that they have "skill issues" or were "bad players," and what might the answer have to do with self-esteem?
Thanks for reading and I hope it helps you.
Please explain : if I'm not good at a Game and I keep having to start over, how can I have Fun?!
And do I play Games just to keep losing?! Every PvP Game is competitive, because that's the Point of PvP Games !!
Maybe don't buy a PvP Game, if you only want to play PvE...
I also don't believe that PvP Players play Games that they don't enjoy, just because they want to win. That's complete Nonsense.
Wanting to win, has been human nature since the Beginning of Time.
It is not the fault of Industry or Marketing, it is simply human Psychology.
You must have misunderstood something, because I really enjoy playing with and against other players in online games. I'm not sure which part of my comment made the impression that I wanted to play alone against the PC.
To answer your question, we would need to dive in into your personality and the reasons why it makes you feel so bad when you lose a game. But this is the wrong place to do that so I'll stop here.
...do you even understand the Meaning behind PvP Games and that you have most likely ended up in the wrong Genre/Game for you ?!
I am quite sure that I have a more developed understanding than you, to be fair.
