How are high fire rate weapons like the Dolch and Officer balanced unlike the Bornheim?
Curious is all.

You can balance it with using them if you think they are overpowerd.

I have, decent tracking is going to negate the downside of weaker shots since they can shoot three times before the opponent fires twice.

You're not new to the game, after about 900 hours you should have figgerit out to prioritize headshots, always.
Then it doesn't matter how many shots your opponent would have shot.
Soon after the next update, you will be able to kill with the quad derringer at any range.

And guess what? High fire rate weapons give you that brevity to try again quicker. Since most of them have "smaller" ammo type attribute, they'll have less bullet drop in 1896, the Officer Carbine is gonna be OP when bullet drops a thing because it'll have one of the lower bullet drops while being able to fire faster.

What's the problem, cheap gun op.
Everyone plays it because its cheap, solved.

Officer = excessively low damage and low range
Officer Carbine = same as above but better handling
Bornheim = expensive, awful damage, needs a perk for effective reloading, has almost melee range
Dolche = insane two shot damage, good pen, medium range, expensive, needs a perk for effective reloading

You might as well unload the Bornheim and throw the ammo at ur opponent, they are really missing the mark with the damage on that weapon.

I agree with above poster Officer Carbine... hopefully not too affected by drop, reasonably damage, awesome two tapper.

Good lord, the Bornheim does NOT need a damage buff. The minute that gun can reliably two tap is the day it becomes a better Dolch.

Bornheims damage honestly makes sense at launch, just not at this point though since its just as bad as Nagant, Springfield, and M1873C, they're alright, but useless because everything else is way better(Officer/Bornheim Silencer, Centennial, and M1873).

I believe they need to rebalance damage of guns altogether if headshots are OHKO at any range, spamfire guns(any rifles less than a second) should have 80-100 damage and the other firearms aside from Springfield, Martini, and Sparks should have damage around 100-120 where they cannot oneshot already downed hunters but depend on the Muzzle Velocity, Wall Pen, and Damage Falloff as their defining features over eachother.

officer = higher recoil, slower firerate than a bornheim.

dolch = currently pretty OP but has high recoil and if you dont run ammo boxes you are most likely gonna run out of ammo fast.

they did say some ammo types are getting removed soon so most likely dolch FMJ will get removed (thank god).

Im aware of that and good, but I feel the Officer Carbine will be OP in 1896, because compact will have one of the lower bullet drops, with High Velocity Ammo giving it a 600m/s shot, might make it one of the strongest head poppers whilst being good in close range combat.

Meh maybe. Velocity will still be important. Personally i think centi HV will be one of the top weapons in the game. Also long ammo will still stay viable META most likely because of the high damage, better damage drop off and wallbang potential.

Thats very possible, 800 m/s shots mean a shot will connect almost instantly with you only needing to figure out the dropoff, though I would not be surprised if it gets cut with dumdum since its the fastest rifle with 123 damage instead of 115.

Long Ammo is true, as long as it does +125 damage it'll still be king since it does the third highest damage for an ammo type with the best damage retention.

TLDR: Spread and recoil are real stats and hipfire is real a gimmick that lets you scan/fire faster in case you don't know your enemy's exact position or hitbox.

In Hunt it's not "meta" to push, ever. So the generous nature of the Doch will overshadow the forgiving No. 3. in typical plays. As of now fire ammo in the No.3 lets you permanently burn a small chunk if you can even get 2 toe-shots from a brief mag dump at 100m. Which to me is more useful than letting my pistol attempt the headshots and double taps my rifle is better at.

Running both as two-slot carbines will make the design choices clear, where the Dolch fills many roles as an assault weapon and the No. 3 is still a snappy finisher or fallback.
