Hunt: Showdown 1896

Hunt: Showdown 1896

make the bornheim worth its cost
recap :
- normal bornheim needs 3 taps, match variant needs 2
- both have a low (10) ammo capacity
- they all cost over 200$

for half that price you can get the nagant officer that 2-taps and will probably be shot at the same RoF to keep the spread controlled anyway.

My suggestion :
bring the ammo capacity on par with officer (14) for normal bornheim, and maybe a bit higher for match ; It would still eat ammo fast but you would not run out of bullets mid-fight all the time.

That's my opinion, I'm curious what y'all would do to make the bornheim great again (if it even needs it).

Edit : maybe drop the price a bit too, something like 150$

Even though I am well know for hating spam, I have to agree with this. Officer far outshines the Bornheim, which it should not.

Between the officer and the spirfire the bornehim is indeed left behind. Should be adjusted to like 125-150. You NEVER see it anymore because it's outclassed by a lot of other guns.
Hell, take a derringer.

Its based on the Bergmann pistol, so will always have low cailbre ammo. The gimmick for the Bergmann was the fire rate, so perhaps that should be increased.

It's ok where it is. With good aim it can kill two hunters faster than officer. In other words, DPS is somewhat same, alpha is different.

It used to be alot better but basically was a cheaper dolch and got nerfed. Its stats should remain but make it cheaper.
Yes please make it cheaper at least
So I can spam 24/7
I love spammy guns so fun

but with 5 bullets and the need to hit 3 times It's king of hard to manage; I don't use it anymore since it was so much left behind I'd rater use a gun with only 3 bullets left I will probaly make a better use of it

I want a variant of the bornheim with a supressor but with like a locked slide so it has a ROF comparable to a regular nagant.
Purely because I just want a quiet pve handgun with a faster reload.

Bornheim seriously is like a nitro to me, conceptually at least. The gun is a straight handicap if you can’t aim well, but the skill ceiling is actually crazy high if you can get those head shots.

In combination with a Sparks it might be a good pistol.
I think the nagant officier remain almost as fast and with better handling

I think you dont played enough with Bornheims...The Price is right they are very powerfull, they need 3 shot yes but those 3 Shot are faster then most Revolvers can fire 1 shot. And when you use Incendiary People start to burn after the 2nd Hit too.

Its a good close combat Weapon which can fight with Shotguns outside the Shotguns ohk range, but also can deliver Headshots on more away Targets.

In the case of Nitro it's so good that they put a sight on it to make it hard to snipe with it, and on top of that priced so high that you want to extract as soon as you spawn to avoid losing it. Bornheim on the other hand has its strengths, but is outshined by most other secondaries ; the match variant is good, but both bleed ammo by every end, on top being rather costly. And if you want to use incendiary ammo, it costs more than an uppercut.

This is why I'm not suggesting a buff to its damage/accuracy/etc but more of QoL/pricing change. Hell I wouldn't mind lowering its firerate (say from 210pm to 150pm ; Dolch is 164pm).

A reduce in price would be very apreciated.

No one is playing this gun. Officer is WORLDS better.
Defiant Dan Feb 15, 2022 @ 6:34am
Bornheims are good close combat Weapons and a bornheim can win vs Shotguns no Problem. The Recoil Recovery is so quick, the follow up shots so fast... and on top Incendiary..., what does it matter that you need 3 Hits when those just demand 3 quick clicks on the Body ? You get those 3 Shots out faster then you could fire a 2nd Shot with most other Handguns
RebirthInFire Feb 15, 2022 @ 5:09pm
yes it allows you to gun down someone very fast at close-range,
but so does any other revolver with fanning or dual-wield, and even without fanning both officer and spitfire scottfield do the same job most of the time (again, for half the price).

Bornheim's a weapon of extremes. It has :
* the lowest damage per shot of the game
* the highest Rate of fire of the game (excepting the avtomat)
* one of the lowest total ammo if we ignore shotguns (15, dolch has 20 )

on top of that, partial reloads are longer and lose 1 ammo, so you have multiple incentives for emptying your clip on the first guy you see.

I just want something to justify bringing it to the bayou more often.
As I said earlier, I wouldn't mind a lower RoF if this weapon gets some love otherwise (like a lower price, more reserve ammo, ...).

Maybe removing the lost bullet on partial reload ? coupled with something like the last Dolch nerf (which made it even slower per bullet on partial reloads) you would still need to weigh between keeping ammo and reloading fast, but i would be less punishing.
