Hunt: Showdown 1896

Hunt: Showdown 1896

Cannot Force the game to launch in 2560 x 1440
I've tried everything from several different sources to force the game to launch in the proper resolution..
I have no issues with any other game, however, when I launch Hunt, it forces 1920 x 1080 on my 2560 x 1440 monitor.
in the launch options under steam settings I have tried all of these listed commands
-screen-width 2560 -screen-height 1440
-w 2560 -h 1440 +r_forceaspectratio 16:9
-w 2560 -h 1440
Nothing has worked. Please help!
System Specs:

GPU: 3080 FTW3
CPU: I9 10850k
Ram: 32GB 3400MGhz
Game installed on NVME M.2

i have 2560 x 1440 Currently, does the game just not recognise your monitor or something?

The game recognized my monitor, because every time I launch the game, it launches in 1080p so I have to manually go into the settings and change the resolution back to 2560 x 1440 ... which since the new update, then makes the game incorrectly formatted across my multiple monitors, then I have to change from boarderless to windowed, drag the window to my proper gaming monitor, then set to boarderless again. its just an unnecessary headache every time I launch the game.

Try to active the DSR from Nvidia control panel

DSR factors or smoothness? I will try turning them both on.

go to nvidia control panel, then go to control the 3d configuration (sorry for my bad english XD) i'm from arg, then look for the option, "factors of DSR" and put it in 2560x1440

1.78x i think is the same in the option

Might sound daft, do you have the NVIDIA app installed were it scans for your games and you can optimise them through the app? if so, start the game through that, instead of starting it through steam. I had a similar problem with For Honor when starting through steam as it would always start up in windowed boarder and had to keep going into settings ingame to alter it. Yet starting it through the NVIDIA app, had now problems.

I’ll give this a shot! Thanks for the tip.

I’ll do this right now and let you know if it works!

this did not work for me. I double checked everything was as you recommended, still launching auto in 1080p

Try this, go into display settings and make sure that you gaming monitor is set as the primary display. I had similar issues with some games when I had my TV plugged in, it would default to 2k res on the TV and vice versa unless I had it as the primary display. However, I'm running AMD so this might be a quirk with Nvidia cards

i have too an 2560 x 1440 Monitor no problem with that
If you have a 2nd monitor, try setting the game to your other monitor/resolution, hit apply, then switch it back to the correct monitor at 2560 x 1440 in the in-game settings.

This trick worked for me in BF1, no idea if it'll work for you for this game but it's an easy thing to try at least.

well if it doesn work try this, go to the game folder, and look to the folder "user" and inside it's a .cfg file, that's name "game.cfg" and then open with .txt and look for :

r_CustomResHeight = 1080
r_CustomResWidth = 1920

that's change for your resolution and let me know if it's works

you find another code like this, "change it too" because i don't know if u have custom graphics or normal

r_Width = 1920
r_Height = 1080
