I was expecting extended engagements involving multiple teams running round the map with immolators in tow. I expected him to be the strongest Boss of them all. What a fizzer.
Well he's a wild target after all, and no wild target boss so far has been stronger than a default boss with a boss lair. Therefore I didn't expect him to be stronger than any other boss, though he really is weak.
The only people having problems with him are people that have been in a fight beforehand and are all low HP, people that are new to the game and don't know about the burning and stamina consumption mechanic or those who haven't unlocked a spear or the quad derringer with penny shot (I mean sure you can easily gun him down, but that takes time and attracts people quite easily too).
The only good thing about him is that he replenishes HP instantly and drops a guaranteed trait for you to pick up, which most of the times is one of the rare ones. Other than that there's no need to beat him unless you have a challenge with him going on or you want to grab the extra trait, since money isn't an issue for halfway decent players. And the banish effect can be obtained easily with the sealed medkit that we have in the mines (same as with the last event).
So the addition of Hellborn is kinda 80/20, in comparison to Rotjaw the fight is done faster (which is nice) and more rewarding. Only annoying part is that if a team shows up at the same time as you do and you already engaged in a fight it puts you at a great risk of being a one tap easily. Other than that I think it's a nice addition, cheers.
I concur.
I always thought RotJaw was the biggest let down but after the Hellborn trailer I had high hopes. He battered the hell out of me the first time, I don't think it has ever hit me again since.
Why it isn't in the big mines where you could easily get trapped etc.
I see your points, I just thought he was gonna be THE GUY, you know hard to kill (Still a sticky takes care of him mostly), with a few immos around him to make it really interesting, imagine shooting the immolators from distance while another team is trying to take them out.
The encounter that did draw players for that extended confrontation. He's turned out to be easy money.
Not really what I expected given the sales pitch.
I agree, I thought he would be much harder.
If they will add wendigo, I really hope he will be real challenge.
