What Crytek has done here

Capitalism and greed run the gaming industry. No one can deny this. There are those small companies that prefer to make a game great over the typical existing profits of tried and true business models. Crytek developed and will continue to fine tune a whole new engine for hunt. The old engine was outdated and would eventually die out. Now with this new engine the game will be around another decade at least. A new map that is fantastic, New mechanics and so on so on....To what monitary gain to Crytek? Sure they make money from BB sales, they make money from DLC. They make money from product sales. They could have made alot more money from making another game and charging us 60 bucks. Make another game rinse and repeat. Instead they updated this game we love, with ZERO extra cost to us the consumer. To a greedy company this is unheard of and would be considered a waste of resources. Investors would drop them and their stock would plummet. This Crytek risked on us, the player base. So you say they dont care about us? Really? How blind could you be, just appreciate what we have and stop nit picking. Its really annoying to some of us that actually appreciate these developers.

Generally agree with your post but the neo-Marxist "capitalism and greed" nonsense is ridiculous. A video game isn't a charity. Capitalism fuels progress and gives us better stuff. When a producer, or in this case a developer, tries to squeeze money out of consumers capitalism will either correct it by the backlash of the consumers being unwilling to further support the developer- or it will CONFIRM that the model for making money that some people hate (like loot boxes) actually WORKS because consumers will just suck it up and pay more. Unless there's force or fraud involved it's up to the producer and consumer to work out this relationship.

The only alternative to capitalism is an introduction of some third party, typically the government, to "help" or "protect" the consumer... which is always a disaster. Such "help" always ends up screwing the consumer in the end with less quality and quantity in what is produced. The only one who wins in that scenario is the bureaucrat who "helps" everyone be "fair."

So it's our duty as consumers to punish behavior we don't like. That's the only way for there is no better alternative.

But I agree with you. Far from being a bad actor Crytek is amazing. The game gives and gives and gives. It's a great value for an incredible multiplayer experience.

Tips for the future, don't outsource it.

UI design team, fired with a note on their resume saying they actually need training in Interface design.

What the developer has on their hands is a classic, very valuable piece of exquisite furniture which they try to keep "updating" with a tin of white gloss paint.

Yes this is what I mean. They dont have to spend all these resources on a 5 year old game to be successful. They can just pump out tired old business models to make a profit just like all the bigger companies. Games that charge 60 or 80 dollars at release and are played far less in the long run. I have over 5k hours in Hunt and I got this game on sale under 20 dollars. Ive paid 60 and 80 for games I have less than 20 hours on. Think about this.

Oh another insane shill session. They put the mimimum about of development in this game. Its extremely active = lots of new sales. Its one of the most streamed games on Twitch = lost of new sales.

AND they are actually making other games. I think Crysis 4 is in the making and also another title? This game has been a bugfest for 6+ years and is developed like a early access game. The old and the new UI show they suck. The long standing bug, reload .... bugs prove they are incredible bad at this or understaffed af. Yet Crytek hires the artists to pump out a new DLC every other week.

There is nothing to praise its an absolute ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ how this game is managed. But because the core gameplay is good people come up with all kinds of excuses.

This is an established gaming company, yet Hunt NEVER EVER in 6+ ever felt like it was deved by one. It feels like a amatuer or understaffed team is allowed to work in a little experimental side project.

Its so weird. I have never bought a DLC for this game. I just felt it wasnt nessesary as you get plenty of skins from events and such. However after reading that last response I think I will buy a DLC now. I think of it as supporting them rather than something for myself. Maybe im part of the problem but with 5 years of playing and 5k hours I think it is justified. Thanks for the insight.

Oh because you played a bugfest for 5 years its justified to support them? I would consider buying DLC IF I would see them putting some effort into the game.

New Engine was overdue but what about like long standing bugs they just do not give a ♥♥♥♥. I would prefer the old engine, as outdated as it was, over new ♥♥♥♥ and more new ♥♥♥♥ while creating new bugs and not fixing old ones.

- Bear trap placement STILL bugged when you move.
- Sounds lingering at extraction.
- I just got a game where a clue was bugged. It was blue (or like boss banish point) but we could not pick it and they already extracted with it.
- And what about this BS: When I clue gets dropped and your mate (i you?) pick it up. It (sometimes?) just does not show correctly in the HUD. This is like one of the bugs that have been in the game for years.
- I can not ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ unequip my weapons right now. I have 2 conversion dualies that are both contraband. The message asks me to confirm to trow it away when I try to unequip it. I CONFIRM IT. NOTHING HAPPENS. DUCK THIS BUGFEST!


I could go on with long lists of bugs that were in the game for way to long or are still in the game.

Literally game crashing bug with map right now. AMD cards NOT TESTED AT ALL for their 2.0 release WTF is there to support. YES YOU ARE PART OF THE PROBLEM IF YOU FINANCE THIS BS. They just get the message for 6 years that they just can go on like this and you fools buy the DLCs.

They deved this huge new map and come up with all kinds of new weapons and ammo types. All stuff just to hype and promote the game. They intentionally holding things back and bring weapons variants in like 1by1 just so they have something to announce. But year old bugs that apparently are not important for them to fix. They rather bring out anther half baked bugfest updated that they abuse us as alpha testers with.
