DLC weapons and people
Dumb question prob but...

i wanna buy this game and was thinking of buying the starter pack.
But isnt the whole point of extraction shooters that you lose all your stuff when dying.
So i have the question how exactly it works, can i easily get to those guns again. And do i have the guy all the time or is he on cooldown or something?

So the DLC, including the starter pack one, are skins for characters and guns. If you die, you lose that character, and the weapons, but you don't lose access to them and can rebuy them like normal gear/hunters between raids. So you lose them on death, but keep access to them.

you have him all the time as long as you pay 100 hunt dollars (when he dies), gun skins are unlocked and usable in every match so long as you unlocked the weapon.
Buy the game while it's on discount but wouldn't buy at full price as the game has lots of cheaters and servers are absolutely awful.
legendary hunter are cheaper u save money in the long run if u wanna try hard buy hunters that are hard to spot like dark colors

I know this wasn't your question, but just so you are aware, since you say you want to buy the game, this might persuade your decision. The loot system in hunt isn't really like other extraction shooters. You will have the starting weapon for every weapon family unlocked, and then getting kills with a weapon will unlock variants and custom ammos for that weapon family (custom ammos will soon be unlocked for all weapons by default). You don't have a backpack and can't store guns you aren't using in the middle of the match, you can only bring in the 2 weapon slots, and swapping them in the middle of the match for a new gun will just toss your old on the floor (the new gun will come with you if you extract, but will be marked as contraband, and you are only allowed to store 2 contraband of every weapon on the loadout screen). The only thing you really get for extracting is cash, which is then used to buy the loudout you want, and some levels to upgrade your hunter before starting your next match in the bayou

This *technically* isn't true, since the cost of a legendary hunter is 200 + equipment, and tiered hunter only cost 80% of the value of the equipment they carry... but this is going to change in the next update

No, the legendary hunter cost is 100. Not 200. For almost a year already.
