About bullet drop what do you think?
I will be honest, most changes cryteck makes I tend to agree with and I prefer the more fast paced hunt while still keeping a methodical feel to it for the most part, but there have been a few over the years that I really do disagree with, the whole poison ammo/cloud nerf recently as one example (also necro as a whole).

Bullet drop honestly I don't like the sound of it and seeing some of the stat changes to guns I sincerely hope they rethink them if they intend to keep it regardless, I mean drop off range for the pax being 20 meters? uppercut 15 meters? for example. at that point why use pistols at all besides outside of really close fights.

Also further point why are they being so vague about how it works? like how severe is the drop off is it fast drop off or slow drop off, what about longer ranges where iron sight and size of the gun will get in the way of view? (assuming the former of drop off is true)

The game has had 0 drop off bullet wise for over 6 years, you already had swaying and damage falloff to account for on top of accounting for bullet travel time, adding another variable to the aim while definitely an interesting change is going to make the barrier for entry all the more harder.

The other side effect of this, is that since shotguns are not effected by this much at all if at all it will promote more shotgun play, now I love shotgunning I love playing it aggressively not passively but I don't want this to turn into a camping shotgun game, anymore than it already is sometimes at boss lairs.

I don't think it will harm snipers that much either due to the above point with iron sight and spitzer retaining some of that straight shot without drop off.

I do want to see hunt change and improve, it's a good thing to try and change and innovate in order to keep the game fresh and interesting, but I feel this change will be to drastic looking at it from the outside.

All of that said I will still play and at least give it a go first and try to be as fair as possible with it, but what do you all think on it?

Towards the topic regarding bullet drop: Since none of us has been able to playtest it I would suggest that we test it for a week and see how things are going. We can complain afterwards after we gave it a fair test, but complaining beforehand is kinda childish, just because it's new it doesn't have to be bad necessarily. If it's turning out to be bad we can still complain, participate in the surveys or state our discomfort in their discord server and so on.

Also bullet drop starting at 15 or 20 meters doesn't mean that the gun becomes useless in a fight within compound lengths. They said it will be a "subtle drop on longer ranges", which isn't defined at all but how would they manage to define it shortly anyways? This gun flies a curve with a drop of 25° at 120 meters, this gun .. like should they give us a spreadsheet for everything before we even played and tested it or what do you have in mind on how they can get rid of being vague towards us?

This isn't a rant towards you at all, just giving my thoughts towards this discussion. Test it first, see how it goes and then act accordingly by either loving it or complaining about it, cheers.

Fair criticism and no worry's I wanted open feedback and thoughts on it I don't take these things personally.

I will also be testing this extensively to see if it's a good or bad change, I doubt it will be bad though as like I said at the very beginning most of the time I do agree with cryteck.

My main concern lies in that this is a very drastic change for the game mechanics wise that changes a lot of balance aspects, with little thought about marketing/impact it would have not explaining the change, someone must of knew lot's of wild claims and thoughts would spring up doing that.

As to what they could of done, it's not much but a visual demonstration to give us indication of how much it drops with 1 of each ammo type compact medium long say in the shooting range could give us a better clue shooting at the dummy.

It's a very very bold mechanic to add after this long with no bullet ballistics, as you mentioned OP.

I agree, might make it harder for the uptake of new players.

"Subtle" Not something this developer is renowned for.

I keep saying to friends that play this game that everything feeling like a laser isn't any fun, and dying 7/10 times to a headshot when the head should be only 40% of a grouping is astounding. There ought to be drop and an inherent spread (like in the original battlefield games - haven't played past bf2), maybe even some ironsight sway, as well as momentum to movement. Getting sniped by some flintlock pistol seems so absurd when everything else tries to feel realistic.

Bullet drop is going to make it less disadvantageous to move aggressively and try to break a stalemate. It will nudge open-- perhaps ever-so-slightly --the path of closing in upon your foe, rather than just hunkering down and out-waiting them.
That guy sitting in a roost, shooting you from 2 compounds away? He's about to be a little less immediately dangerous. Make use of that, if you dare.

I think it's gonna make the game feel more immersive imo.
But i also look to this game for that more so than most people, because i actually live in Louisiana. (Playing this makes me feel closer to my roots idk)
Personally i just look at the bullet drop being added, as just some more realism and THAT i like.
Try not to overthink it everyone!
Yes i know it'll take time to learn, but i think the game's gonna be better for it overall.

Oh you know It playing aggro is a lot more fun than sitting around waiting but that's just me.
