The spear

Okay so I just got back into this game, and I'm curious as to peoples thoughts on the spear. My immediate thought is, why isn't this a primary large weapon? It's crazy how this is a consumable. I presume the general consensus is its quite strong yeah?

One shots no matter where you hit, with no damage fall off.
Also no visual indicator as to whether a player has it, so no way to plan for it.
Really dumb, but whatever, the game has bigger problems right now.

well apart from krag getting 126 damage that is it.

down side they ♥♥♥♥♥♥ the graphics to low and made it look horrible. i play on week ends with my 2 friends for years so if this ain't patched we are doing something els.

if it was to be in a weapon slot, then you could down a hunter, take his spear, throw it away and take your own weapon back. Easy as that. Not hard to figure out.

That thing is completely broken... Out of this world OP.
Im pure noob with melees and even me kills a lot with it.
Need to be an WEAPON, not a tool.

You cant even compare with most melees (single slot).... Maybe the Katana, but you dont have the option to throw that in someone...

Bomb Lance can... Bomb Lance does more melee damage (charged atack can kill at any part of the body), have the same range, and can ''throw'' shots that also have 60 m/s but drops WAAAAAAAAY more.

Just to remember...
Bom Lance costs $200 vs $68and it´s a 3 slot weapon.
Spear is a F0CKING TOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL.

That´s how stupid it is.

And? With how strong it is, I see 0 issue with that bro. It one shots anywhere on the body with a super fast throw speed and flight speed. If you struggle to kill someone with it, you're not very good.

enjoy to be one shot by a spear at 30m in the legs.... so dumb, why crytek has not correct this yet. it breaks the game actually !

The range of 290 meters is... way too much... I mean the person who's holding the Olympic World Record is able to throw a spear like something above 90+ meters...

That range isn't indicative of how far you can actually throw it, it simply means it'll do full damage even at that distance, which is guaranteed impossible to manage. Also if you got hit by a spear at 290m away I'd just be impressed.
