It will give me 2?
This is great, thanks!
Frontiersman always increases the amount of tools you can carry with you. Like 4 medkits instead of 3, 3 throwing axes instead of 2 and so on. This basic trait has been in the game for several years.
In my opinion, this trait is mostly for solo players, I noticed that they use it for traps.
I do not use traps, so I never found it necessary for my setups, and the amount of anything else is just enough for me.
So I did not use it at all, and I did not connect that you can use it with spear.
But anyway, 2 spears should be default.
Spear is SO 5/5 design that it made every melee weapon pointless!
It's too strong, way too strong. It's a decent boss killer, great PvE killer, even Meatheads die fast with it.
...But true, it's fun. Deserves a nerf.
Tf you mean this trait is mostly for solo players? Having an additional medkit combined with doctor (which is basically a full heal) is something everyone in a team should run.
I do not think that spear makes other melee pointless, but you are absolutely correct, that SPEAR is F good.
To kill Meathead you need 4 throws, if you have only one SPEAR it will take a second to kill it. But if you have a team attacking one Meathead it will be very fast.
One weakness I found is that it is useless against HIVE.
So if you want to use SPEAR, you have to use knuckleduster too.
This is -1 slot, and this is what you pay for the power of SPEAR.
But no doubt, that SPEAR is just a very versatile item, and I like it this way, even if it is a bit OP, it is still acceptable for me, because this makes the SPEAR so much fun.
My order will be.
1. SPEAR
2. KATANA
3. THROWING AXE
4. BASEBALL BAT
5. THROWING KNIVES
I play random, and I never use it.
99% of random players, does not even help you, most of the time they are separated from you. So I do not see a reason to carry tons of health with me, because most of the time it will be a waste.
You can actually one shot hives with a throw or with a heavy melee attack if you don't hit the bees but the hive itself ..
I never play random and there's the difference then. But as you already said that 99% of times randoms don't even help you .. wouldn't it be beneficial to have an additional medkit that can heal you fully with doctor? That way you can leave a vit shot out of your loadout for example and bring a nade to counter a push towards you. Just a suggestion though.
I mean, it's nice, but I don't need it that much.
From my experience, I will die before I will have a chance to use the potential of this setup.
If you ask me, this game should not have any health system other than wound treatment from bleeding/heavy damage.
Med pack should be removed, the same as health shots.
This system makes people way too aggressive.
I think if people could be forced to protect their health more, the gameplay would benefit from this.
And just one revive.
So if you were down, you have one possibility to stand up and fight again.
Infinite revive is just dumb, because people feel invincible.
For me, it is the most fun item in the game, atm.
I'm so against this game, that will be hard to tell about me that I'm on the side of the developers.
This game is hot garbage.
But I like SPEAR, and I do not think that anything should be changed about it.
Great addition!
I would be happy if they could add more interesting things.
Slingshot would be fun, with fire ammo, or poison, etc.
Or Arm crossbow, like Assassin's Creed stiletto mount type.
I believe that your supposed change would mean that people would actually be way more aggressive since it is way more punishing if it's successful. I mean that's the reason why people in the current hunt state are often aggressive: because it works and even if it doesn't work flawlessly it still is quite punishing for the receiving team since they're drained off their meds pretty fast. And at some point a body tap is all you need to make the dream work.
So people aren't aggressive because of the health system, they're aggressive because most people in medium MMR levels don't know how to handle this kind of aggressive pressure and always tend to fall back little by little, until they run out of space to fall back to.
If you want to play a game that actually has wound treatment from bleeding or heavy damage you can play EFT instead of hunt. But thank god Hunt isn't EFT.
