False Positive Ban for Cheating. Razer Synapse Keyboard software?

I got a false positive ban for cheating within 24 hours after re-installing Hunt after a year of not playing.

Can anyone speak to mouse or keyboard software being a problem for EAC?

I recently bought a new $250 Razer keyboard and installed the Razer Synapse Beta software. iCue is also running for a Corsair mouse I purchased 6 months ago, otherwise, nothing has changed since I last played Hunt a year or so ago.

I assumed any factory software from a big manufacturer wouldn't be an issue, especially since the keyboard seems to have enhancements for Hunt Showdown (LEDs turn blue in dark sight).

I've played for almost 1200 hours since around 2018 and am 4 MMR. I can't prove to anyone here I wasn't cheating, other than to tell you I wasn't, or if it was a legit tag it was through factory Razer keyboard software I had no clue was outlawed.

I appealed at EAC and Crytek. Saw another post today of someone also saying they were banned. Also on west coast, so there were lots of server issues prior to the crash and being told I was banned.

In this game, outright cheaters who kill you through the walls are often not banned, there is no need for fairy tales about a ban for Synapse

On the killing through walls thing- just a sidebar that the darksight mechanic of Hunt sometimes makes for situations that feel like cheating but aren't.

For example, at close ranges (sub 20m), I've used Dark sight to wallbang a wellspring holder because they were predictably crouching in a corner by a window. After 1200 hours you get an intuition and with darksight putting an orange blob in the general zone (which is actually a pretty small area when you're very close), you know where you would roughly be, especially if the building is small and they aren't moving. With a bit of luck, you can wallbang someone. I've got maybe three instances where I wallbanged someone who thought they were hiding and was like "I can't believe that killed them, they must be pissed."

I've been on the receiving end also, and it feels like the other person is cheating (maybe they are?). But just pointing out the game is hardcore but you can see the general location of players through walls with Darksight+bounty or wellspring holder in soul survivor, and with luck shoot people through walls. Pen is part of the game.

Obviously, there are other situations where stuff is completely obvious that it wasn't luck+skill

I literally bought the game for myself and 2 friends, so I have no idea why I would want to get banned and lose out on having fun with my friends. I also asked for an appeal, to get a canned email of "it is upheld" at 1am as if EAC couldn't make it more obvious a bot is just telling people to get lost. I can't figure out what triggered my account either, but I do have Logitech software installed? Currently waiting to get a more definitive response from Crytek as I'm clearly not the only one. Hoping this is solved and I don't have to avoid EAC and Crytek games for life.

My response from EAC also came at 2:17 AM PT on Monday, maybe 12 hours from the time I sent the appeal request on Sunday. That feels like an automatic reply. As I said, there is nothing to compel EAC to review any appeal short of pressure from devs.

One person on Discord said Crytek (which is different than EAC) took 20 days to review their 'I was banned' ticket. That seems realistic for a human response.

You seem adamant to make your case. So aside from the guy who was dual EAC and VAC banned and trying to jump on your bandwagon, I will throw you a proverbial bone. Hunt Showdown is absolutely infested and inundated with hackers right now. Looking for sympathy or recourse here is a lost cause, no one is going to care much about a false positive verdict in a city with a 90% murder rate, That’s just the way it goes when you have a massive issue, it sucks, it’s unavoidable. Again, you dodged a bullet by avoiding being subjected to it. Take it as an act of providence, appeal, or move on. Good luck.

And you're right, I'm not looking for sympathy (though will admit to venting), I'm looking for context.

I started this thread and kept it going because I was hoping others were seeing the same thing, and there was a shared commonality we could identify to help get unbanned.

I've gotten some useful context, but doesn't seem like there's a wave of people who believe they have false positives.

I had been banned in Hunt before, and i appealed to crytek, who lifted my ban. Fale positives happen. I fyou feel you have been tagged wrongfully, contact their customer support.

VAC was from 2009 in COD MW2 when they announced closing of servers and I was a bored and curious teenager on what cheating looked like as everyone else was doing it. EAC was from Hunt out of the blue. It is not at all relatable when they are 15 years apart. But thanks for your input.

In fact they just removed my ban for being false. I really hope you get yours removed as well Roshambo. Did you email Crytek directly?

My ONLY guess is either mass reports against me (and I'm not very good) OR more than likely some sort of program running in my background. The only thing I would say could trigger it would be my Logitech G hub/software. As others have said, these programs can be coded to run macros (which would be no advantage in Hunt since its mostly single shot) and it triggered EAC to ban me. I have played the game for a year with no issues and suddenly got banned. I just simply turned it off of my startup programs and hope that fixes it.

The only other guess I have is that I recently bought a VPN since I fly international a lot, and it's installed on my google chrome and I did have that open at the time of my ban. These are only guesses. It wasn't running- just installed, but anything is possible at this point.

I will say that I did an appeal request two times a day every day to make sure my name was also going to be in their face until they did something. Not to be annoying, but to have them actually review things going wrong. I do not want to see Crytek fail because of a cheap anti cheat.
