False Positive Ban for Cheating. Razer Synapse Keyboard software?
I got a false positive ban for cheating within 24 hours after re-installing Hunt after a year of not playing.

Can anyone speak to mouse or keyboard software being a problem for EAC?

I recently bought a new $250 Razer keyboard and installed the Razer Synapse Beta software. iCue is also running for a Corsair mouse I purchased 6 months ago, otherwise, nothing has changed since I last played Hunt a year or so ago.

I assumed any factory software from a big manufacturer wouldn't be an issue, especially since the keyboard seems to have enhancements for Hunt Showdown (LEDs turn blue in dark sight).

I've played for almost 1200 hours since around 2018 and am 4 MMR. I can't prove to anyone here I wasn't cheating, other than to tell you I wasn't, or if it was a legit tag it was through factory Razer keyboard software I had no clue was outlawed.

I appealed at EAC and Crytek. Saw another post today of someone also saying they were banned. Also on west coast, so there were lots of server issues prior to the crash and being told I was banned.

What version? I'm using the Razer Synapse Beta v1.15.1.561

3.9.109.11015 is my version number I would drop the beta and go to the released software.

I uninstalled it entirely. The thing is, even if they vacate the ban, I literally have no idea what caused it and reportedly they don't tell you. So, I assume I'll literally have to wipe my whole PC or I assume it'll just re-ban me if it wasn't the Razer software (although there are examples online of that being the issue)

scrub your comp of all third party software except those from well known sources like razer. I dont run croma or the other resource hog effects just the synapse. so that should be fine it was something else detected.

I mean, that's good advice. I didn't think I had anything running. It's also odd the ban happened when it did. I played probably 10 games over 24 hours from the time I re-installed up to the ban and I didn't install any new software during that time.

Edit: Reading apparently bans can be delayed. People report getting banned while not even actively playing.

How about VPN software? I accidentally on at least one game had the VPN on.

I'm running Razer Synapse since v1 - no problems at all! The "problem" is somewhere else :ujel:

Also, can a single report by someone get you banned?

For example, during the 10 games I made one of the luckiest BS shots on a high level soul survivor player.

First shot Nagant Officer from like 50m, headshot where the opponent could probably not see me sitting still in mud in shadow, then they barely poked the top of their head through a window at Reeker. They may not even have been able to see out the window and it hit the top of their scalp.

In retrospect, that person could have thought I was cheating, but it was just outrageously lucky. RNG was strong. They may have reported me.

I'm surprised the "you have a private profile get rekt cheater" crew have not jumped on here yet

I just made it public. This is I think my very first use of the steam forums. I've never had a reason.

case you were banned due software, it means you had either downloaded or installed and had actively running a pattern that was already tagged by EAC.. new software is not tagged, it certainly wasn't due Razer Synapse Beta.

all these Anti-Cheat works very similar way, everything is whitelisted other than stuff that is known and it will be blacklisted. VPN software will also not trigger any bans.

you can contact their support and they will tell you why you were banned.

Is there a difference between an EAC ban and game dev ban? Steam did notify me I had a game dev ban after reboot.

There are only 2 bans you can get:
1. VAC Ban (by Valve)
2. GAME ban (by devs, EAC etc...)

Right, but EAC bans are it detected something wrong technically, but I assume if it was a player complaint that's a game dev ban which doesn't go through EAC, correct?
