FMJ can be good if you're going for wall hits often enough, but high velocity barely does anything to it and incendiary might be decent in the new update but right now not so much.
Thing is medium ammo is somewhat limited, so keeping it stock ammo means you'll have more ammo; but sometimes FMJ can be worth but the bullets will be quite slow.
base ya know its the cheap easy to restock ammo choice here no real reason to argue with or against it
Velocity ammo
trading the ability to easily restock your ammo with the ability to make up for your weapons downside completelywhile also being pretty much silent and no muzzle flash giving you away only real downside is it not being long ammo so early bullet dropoff is actually somewhat punishing
yea if you know the way of bush camping this is kinda busted.... regardless of ammo choice
Pretty sure high velo adds back your muzzle flash and makes the gun louder
But yesh. If you are good then FMJ will give you kills more often. Ok, if you are really good just shoot to head what ever gun you have.
I would probably reccomend high velocity though, as it has very little downsides and you do notice the increase in velocity. I run silenced vetterli HV + spitfire FMJ. That way I can still pen metal.
FMJ on it is a crazy slow bullet, but does let you pen metal. This comes in handy more than you might think.
Finally incendiary for quests.
The only valid point I'm seeing is the flash, as you will see it during night. This you do have to keep in mind.
Extra noise might seem bad on paper but in reality it isn't an issue. Silencers make the sound drop off massive, meaning your shots will not be heard at all past around 50m+. It will also still be much quieter than normal shots. You will still have the drop on people.
As for the velocities:
Silenced Vetterli FMJ is 240 m/s
Silenced Vetterli is 280 m/s
Silenced Sparks is 300 m/s
Silenced Vetterli HV is 350 m/s
Winfield Shorty Silenced is 390 m/s
Not sure why you brought up sparks as a HV alternative? If you want silencer, and velocity I'm really only seeing vetterli HV and winfield shorty as options. Shorty has much worse ammo economy and stability though.
Again you cannot go wrong with this weapon. I will reassert that HV gives you much better velocity for very few downsides now that I have gone over them. FMJ lets you pen metal and retain damage dropoff at the cost of velocity. Incendiary is the weakest in combat but is a good option for "Kill x with fire" challenges. Base ammo has the best ammo economy and lets you kill AI indiscriminately. Pick whatever suits your playstyle best.
With any of these choices you will have a very strong gun.
oh? thats good to know i dont remember this being the case tho. maybe i missed some patch about it or something?
either way im not the type to really use this playstyle i just like to get into the action lol so i wouldnt really know
