About Melee Weapons..

We need more melee weapons..

Bomb Lance
Sword
Machete
Axe

We need more than 4....

You have them equipped on like a ton of weapons too increasing the variety further.
You also forgot the hammer/bludgeoning weapons as well.

Another thing to consider is that every need for melee has pretty much been met, the Machete already suffers because of this so I am not sure what else they could add that would fill any need.

I guess if I could think of one thing we don't have, it would be a single slot or two slot bludgeoning tool like the axe. Maybe a trench shovel or something.

Wormbite's little trench shovel would make a good sword but bludgeoning alternative I feel. Deal same damage as centennial trauma, cost maybe 30 hunt dollars or something.

Could go real fancy and allow the trench shovel to have the unique property of being able to hit dynamite, frag bombs, flash bombs, etc away if you hit them in the air or while they are on the ground, Maybe have it work on arrows and bolts too if you time it right, it would have a semi forgiving hitbox but still be very skill oriented.

I am talking about real Melee Weapons on Weapon Slot.

1 slot weapon with fast attackspeed that deals high poisondamage and medium firedamage
and on heavy damage attack it deals high poision damage and high firedamage with possibility on removing 25hp on first hit.

light attack 60 damage and heavyattack 130.

What niche would new melee weapons serve? I feel like the only thing they need to add is a large bludgeoning weapon we can bring in (basically the sledge buy purchasable). Even then it would mostly just be a worse axe as the only real advantage is immolators and in PvP there is a perk to make blunt damage worse (though I doubt it sees much use)

for exp, i would say Spear ? A regular spear..

Little bit longer range than bomb lance.
Dmg from sabre
2 slot like Axe or 3 slot cuz of the range.

You get use to it.

On my main account, i realized i was a p**sy in terms of close combat.

When i saw game on sale, i told my self, imma create an another account and only play with Melee, so i can overcome this..

Few trial and error i adapted a play style. IT WAS HELL OF A FUN. I climbed real quick to 5 MMR. And asked me, why not simple embrace this play style. Back to my main and playing only Melee for 400hrs and everydayrising..

You can also flavour it with voice chat when u are charging. I am on " Asian Legendery Hunter + Sabre + Screaming BANZAIII on VC " mode. IT IS HELL OF A FUN (Check my profile xd) Some raged, some laughed some add me as friend and wants to join my way (Honey i joined a cult)

Since a lot weapons got melee enchancements it would be better to allow machetes, sabres on other slots not primary weapons ones so they would be a lot more popular and viable to take... Maybe on tools with more tool slot cost or rework inventory alltogether with overall capacity or weight limit...
