Hunt: Showdown 1896

FPS drop since new update
Hey guys,
I'm playing on a Razer 15 Advanced with a 3080 and since the last update I cannot longer play on high settings.
I drop from 60 fps to around 30 for a couple seconds randomly. Is this something that is happening to anyone else?
I used to play on solid 60 FPS

Sounds like a typical stuttering issue. Have you already tried the usual of updating graphics drivers? Also might want to try resetting settings and set them again, can't hurt.
Oh you'll also want to provide full system info under: Steam < Help < System Information just to be safe.

Thanks for the help guys!
I'm unsure why this happens although playing on low settings makes the game at least playable.
Trying to figure out if it's a thermal throttling or something else. Seems to only happen in Hunt.
FPS drop happens on low settings, although it's not game breaking as in higher settings.

I've also :

1- Restored Hunt settings to default settings by deleting the user folder on steamapps/hunt

2- Reinstalled my graphic drivers

Neither of the last two have solved the issue.

Man...that is one powerful laptop man lol.
Technically, you should beat me and yet I play at max settings, max FPS, and low CPU/GPU usage.
My only guess is, if not for driver issues, must be thermal throttling.
Make sure your laptop has plenty of room underneath it, beside it on both sides, and possibly may even need a fan under it. Look on Amazon, you can get laptop coolers for 10 bucks depending on your country, and they are VERY effective. Best of luck friend.
IF it isn't thermal throttling, you might want to check on updating your BIOS. I have run into BIOS problems before that cause the most ridiculous issues that no one seems to be able to fix.

Legion 7 laptop, started dropping from 80 fps to 20 fps (according to the counter) and according to what i feel its like the game just slows to 1-3 fps for a second. Happens alot when I run or shoot,
Have you capped your framerate? Might be worth trying. My friend's laptop was working hard to hit the best possible framerate and then overheating and throttling back and the FPS in Hunt would drop radically for a few moments, then it would shoot back up. When he capped at 60 FPS he got 60 FPS stable.

One issue I have is sometimes after updating my graphics drivers or sometimes after a windows update my overclocking software, either afterburner or evga precision x1, will change the maximum power of my graphics card to like 20%. I just crank the slider back up to 100% and everything is good after that. It's the first thing I check now if I'm having an issue.

I'm getting it tonight drops from 144 to 110 but cause massive stutters. Was fine last night and nothing has changed.

temp/power issue if it is a laptop. all issues i ever had with OP laptops boiled down to one of those.

I downloaded the latest Nvidia driver that came out and updated via Experience the game was unplayable down in the 30s. Removed it and did a fresh driver install a d that fixed it

I'm not sure how applicable it is, but I just had and solved a similar issue. Usually I get 165+ FPS, but today I was getting 60 or so. Turns out it was because I was playing in VR earlier and Steam VR sucks and continued displaying on my HMD after I closed it. Unplugging my Index brought my frames back.

I have lost 5-8 fps , after I delete user folder, that's funny.
user512 Dec 15, 2023 @ 2:14am
I'm able to temporarily fix the fps issue by alt-tabbing out and back in again.

EDIT: It's not to do with audio

change your termopaste on CPU, constantly got drops from 140 to 80 because of throttling coz paste was already dry, i9-12900H.
