headsets that i had,and currently for the second time after the first one broke (4 years of great use) i got me a second pair - and they are the best head sets that i ever had
RIG 800LX Wireless - sound is amazing. so comfortable,your years wont feel a damn thing after 10+ hour of use,for me they are the best damn gaming headset. they are costly tho,but worth every damn cent. they show their best use in game like hunt,where sound is a huge factor.

Headsets from Audio manufacturers such as Sennheiser and others are also recommended but can get very expensive depending on make and model.
The joints? Like i said above, i've had mine for 6+ years, if you take care of things they will last, these have thousands of hours under their belt.
Audio Technicas flagship are also nice and comfortable.
Gaming headphones are kind of a rip off and marketing scheme, unless you need an all in one headset with mic.
I would buy actual monitoring headphones from a music shop. Im currently using ATM50x and enjoy them thoroughly. Had some sennheiser HD280 pros as well that were very comfortable with good sound dynamics. I used them to mix music productions.
