silenced weapons need to be made louder
This game relies on good sound and realistic and widely audible shooting sounds. But then with silenced weapons it becomes like all stupid movies and video games.
This should be changed and silenced guns made realistically audible to about 60 meters.

(Bow and crossbow can be left as is.)

Well it debends quality of silencer and what kind of ammo is used.
So no. It is quite realistic as silenced weapons have quite slow bullets in game also.
Do you have what kind of sound system? That might also effect how well you hear those weapons.

Yesn't. Using high velocity ammo should increase the loudness. Base one however is totally fine

I don't think they gonna change that, devs are stuck a lot in the fun factor / arcade-y style,
but i agree with you that they should be louder at least until 20-25m aprox.

Why? They're silenced for a reason, so you can play a stealthy game, to me that's half the point of HS.

The issue is a lot of players don't listen despite how good Hunts soundscape is and just wait till somethings blows up in front of them before there's any realisation that something is happening.

Well you have to keep in mind, guns from the 1800s had a MUCH lower muzzle velocity than firearms today, so suppressed guns today are probably way louder than a suppressed weapon back then would be. It would probably be as loud as subsonic ammo is today out of a suppressor. But I do understand what youre saying, it does seem a little bit unrealistic when you compare it to odern day stuff.

id rathe rhave them revert the awful audio update it used to be fine but now i can barely tell if someone is above below or right next to me

How long have you been playing? Unless you're playing against bad, legally deaf or speaker players---most know the position after the second shot.

silencers remove the punishment of shooting in trade for mussel velocity

the downside is meh its punishing and makes it hard to get long range shots (cough high velocity bullets cough) but makes up for that by making it near impossible to hear where you are

the problem is that sound is basically everything in this game and musle velocity doesnt mean much because that only matters at super far ranges. dont get me wrong someone can be heard within 50m making this comment semi counter productive since you need range to take Full advantage

but the thing is that even at like 60m range you hardly have to lead shots making this hardly problimatic and the only way someone is finding you unless you are running is by sound which sitting still makes none, then you just gotta be like "just spot them in the bush" but thats hard to say when you got a 360 angle of trees etc and you have no idea where the shots are coming from making no where safe

and even if you are within like 50m of them unless you are dead close to them then you probably arent hearing them anyways theres hardly a difference between 50m and 40m around 25 is when its more noticable which most fights are at 50m anyways

dont get me wrong, im not saying they are OP or something they kinda are mediocer in its own right but just like bows its their silent kills that makes them obnoxious to deal with and rewarding to newer players without any real downside and you cant counter something you dont know where it exists from just gotta take a guess by the sounds of bullet landings and the visuals its self

The fact you can literally outrun half of the 'projectiles' fired from guns in this game is laughable, it's insane how people would ever WANT to trade bullet velocity for basically rock throwing speeds.

Sure, you can annoy people but there's a reason high MMR players take high velocity weapons and a pen secondary. Suppressors are memes, not really weak but not turbo broken like slugs.

Just got shot at by a silenced centennial from 35 meters. could not tell the direction because there was nearly no audio at all. just bad design and balancing
