Hunt: Showdown 1896

Hunt: Showdown 1896

New to this game, control feels sluggish
Press 2 of WASD key doesn't make character move at corresponding direction, sometime the character just stop moving despite holding the button, or the character would stuck moving at one direction without pressing anything, even the interaction key feel weird to press.

Is it always this buggy or there is something wrong?

Sounds to me that you might be using a keyboard that has no anti ghosting

Anti ghosting?
Some keyboards cant handle it when you for example press Shift, w and then also press a or d it wont register the last input because it cant handle more than 2 presses
simultaneously
I hope that makes sense as english is not my first language

You can connect another keyboard and use that and you being on a laptop kinda confirms it has no anti ghosting build in

You are not out of luck, you just need to connect another keyboard to your laptop and if you dont have one you can buy one. I did the exact same thing 20 years ago.

You could try to set buttons like run and duck to the opposite of "hold".

I highly doubt you have a ghosting issue. Ghosting is completly missunderstood.

I have 5 dollars throw away keyboard and no issue. It gets to hard for me to press keys simlutanously before they keyboard doesnt read them correctly.

Open a text document and try to press key simultanously.
You should be abkle to press up to 6 anywhere on they keboard together.
With keys next to each other it becomes a bit more complicated and depends on the specific keyboard.
Ghosting is when a key is registered without it being pressed, hence why its called ghosting.
This happens because not all key are wired indipendently.
For example if you press W,S,D an E will appear because the keyboard cant distinguish these four buttons, its also possible that the keyboard detects the ghosting and only lets you press 2 of the three buttons.

Should be easy to test in a text document, if it works there its not your keyboard that is the problem.

There are keyboards that only accept 2 buttons (for example 2 arrows and thats it), or they dont accept num buttons pressed as well, or other combinations. You can not see that by price. You need to look for that specifically.
Like in your example, when i press wsd, no e appears. But wsd at once.

Total ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, you have fallen for some marketing trash. They cheapest of the cheap keyboards is perfectly fine for gaming. Nobody needs to press 10 keys at once or whatever the ♥♥♥♥ the "anti-ghosting" ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ does. I do not know the limit of what any basic ♥♥♥♥♥ keyboard can handle but its more then enough to handle games. I do own a mechanical keyboard now that probably can handle more but I played my entire like with all kinds of basic cheap keyboards and I never needed any "anti-ghosting" ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.
