Hunt: Showdown 1896

Weapon spread while ADS?
It seems like when i'm ADS, or especially scoped in there is still some level of spread where it won't go exactly where i'm aiming.
I'll aim at a hive's head, me standing still with a dead-eye or marksman and somehow the shot will end up a half foot to a foot away from where i'm aiming (and thus count as a torso hit) at a decent range of 100m or so.

I think it only seems like it. The Developers have specified that there is no spread for ADS.
There is sway of course.

And i have read that same statement from the devs, but i have seen it where i aim and their head is center of the crosshair, takes up the innermost 20% of the scope, and then i see the bullet land and hit them in the stomach or something.
I can't think that's my imagination, unless it's form me firing a bit too early where i can scope back in but the gun isn't fully reset to it's original center from recoil yet and the scope and actual aim-point are off?
imagine in real life when you look through iron sights of an shotgun the pellets spread less lol... i wish only this game did that stupidity but every game has this idk about rifles tho

Honestly I have no idea what's up with this game and I can't tell what shots are bad because of server issues or just weird game mechanics. Missed a point blank headshot yesterday that confused me so bad I had to look at it frame by frame and ask opinions on it because it was messing with my ability to decide on what "good" shots are. Got a decent enough answer but still not sure really.

There is enough jank and nonsense in this game mechanically that I think that there probably isn't any ADS spread but something that ends up feeling like it. I think that the moment a bullet is produced by a shot might suffer from a sort of desync that causes it to "fire" with varying timing due to server quality. I can't be sure though since I'm not 100% on if a bullet is normally fired on hammer drop or during the actual muzzle flash but that's the best explanation I can think to give based on my own experience.

From previous conversations seen on the Official discord it is when the muzzle flashes.

If that's the case I think there's a very good chance that I might be right about shot mistiming being a server issue.

One thing for sure, the bullets in this game do not travel. I reckon its closer to what the nintendo did with the light gun back in the 80s. You pull the trigger and the gun senses the light and where you positioned it and then decides if it was a hit. I think Bullet velocity is nothing more then telling you how much of a delay there is as to when the game registers where you hit.

If you upload an HD recording of an example with shadowplay, I can probably tell you what is going on.

I see folks have reactions like this all the time, and when I see a clip you can see they fired like right at their head but the person is like 80 meters out and they used a springfield so travel time made them miss; or they twitched or just barely fired over a shoulder or something, etc... it's usually explainable they just didn't catch it in the moment.

I've been mainly testing it in trials, where the grunts just stand still.
I don't use scopes in main game unless it's quickplay. Can't justify the extra cost for a scope usually.

I dunno man, but if I saw it I could probably actually provide some information.

With scopes it's probably related to travel speed. You can crouch walk or stand up to avoid a springfield headshot at like 40 meters for example, bullets are that slow.
