Report a translation problem
Thanks! I recorded it so I think I have a lot of what I need. I'll log on to their website
You cannot submit proof / evidence.
Either you report in-game and cannot submit a screen / vid,
or you report through the website... BUT in case the cheater has hidden his in-game profile, you cannot open his steam profile to receive his steam-id.
So you cannot fulfill all requirements to report them through the website.
(because as far as I know, the steam profile is one requirement)
So how should Crytek match submitted proof against the real player without profile / id?
To be honest, that is completley ridiculous.
We need some kind of unique player-id or something that is available ingame... even if the player hides his steam profile.
No, they parted ways with Kayako. (https://www.huntshowdown.com/)
Look in the bottom right corner and you'll see the sing in for support.
At the profile page, even if private, right click and select Copy page URL. It will give you his steam id with that url, or you can copy/paste it as it will lead to the account itself no matter what.
I know how to copy a steam profile id...
I think you have misunderstood the problem.
So I explain again:
The problem is NOT a private STEAM profile.
The problem is private IN-GAME details.
The question I have for you is:
You get killed by a suspicious player.
This player has hidden his in-game details.
Now answer me please, how do you get to his steam profile? ;)
The answer is:
You have no way. The button to open a players steam profile is gone, if the player has hidden his details. Making it impossible to find out the players steam-profile id.
Despite the sheer wall of clown awards coming because this community is usually awful; this does work. Generally if they ACTUALLY cheated and you report this way with evidence, you'll see them pop up on steam as banned within as little as a day to as much as a week.
The problem is catching ESP cheaters with evidence is very very hard to do. Any of the snapping aimbotters are obvious though and dealt with quickly.
Yeah my hacker was hovering in the sky headshotting through terrain at 300+ meters. Not even trying to hide it ahah
Too bad there isn't a way to recover the profile url from older games.
The best way to counter cheaters is to use multiple system (Swiss cheese method), as well as adapting the game mechanics in order to disincentivise cheating / minimizing the consequences (e.g., if you get killed by a confirmed cheater who later got banned, you get back the character you died with, and all the gear you had). This is not as important in hunt (most gear is disposable) as it is in other games, but still worth considering.
All in all though, in almost 200 hours of this was the first time I felt cheated, so I guess not bad.
