Hunt: Showdown 1896

Hunt: Showdown 1896

What the heck'in'holy'what'now? This needs URGENT attention!
So I've just returned to pc and hunt showdown. I've noticed something very strange... The boss keeps getting found by players, sometimes before ive made it to my first clue.

If you don't see this as a problem... move along.

If you do, a possible fix would be... You have to find 3 clues and that gives knowledge of the "boss" your dealing with then you go to the boss location and perform a summon (which is relatively instant and does not alert other players on global. Once summoned its business as usual.

I for one think the current, we have found the boss in under a min is a fundamental break in the games flow. I know how its happening, and i dont really want my experience to be reduced to that.

I have no need to hear any defence for the current meta of finding the boss without all the clues.

The boss is in a random location each match. The whole idea is give variety to matches, e.g. sometimes you are first there and will be more-or-less defending. At other times you will be attacking the boss compound with another team inside and possibly another team attacking as well - maybe this third team got there already or you might find them behind you. The core of the game is dynamic pvp experiences, not a race to clues and bounty. If the bounty was just given to whoever speedruns three clues and the boss fastest it would be awful for gameplay and the pvp experience.

You are wrong.

Your idea is dumb.

I won't bother explaining my position as it is clear you are not interested in having a discussion.

you can find the boss in the first location closest to you, because you are lucky to be next to her at the start. you have a strange claim.

Awful idea too. Pretty sure this guy doesn't even play the game at all regularly why bother with his opinion. He doesn't even want to have a discussion about this.

From what I understand, have read, and seen clips of, the boss location can be found by using pattern recognition - and someone has already done all the work for you all you have to do is vist a url and ur first clue will determine the boss location.

So its not luck, its cheesing the boss location.

Hate to break it but he is wrong. The bounty can spawn next to the border of the first clue grey out area.

U Sure man? I love the hunt showdown, and would hate for that kind of stuff to tarnish the game. There is more than that 2 reddits, and other stuff, actual maps with 100% prediction rates. I havnt used them cuz im not like that but their there.

Eh, being the first to the boss and getting that banish isn't all it is cracked up to be. I often purposely take it slow and let others get there first, picking off other teams along the way. It is pretty easy to make educated guesses on how people will cross the map based on clue block outs and where you heard gunfire.

Set up some ambushes. Let someone else banish and defend against all the teams coming down on top of them. Clean up whoever survives.

Hell, sometimes I find the boss real fast and just pull back to sit somewhere random along the path people will likely approach the boss compound. Let the bushwookie ganking commence; Especially when running solo and I don't have stamina or a sticky.

Yes.
Most players will head toward one of the double clues near the center of the map after grabbing the 2nd clue, if it is available. I, on the other hand, will move along the border to the next compound and I have ran into the bounty in the adjacent compound on more than one occasion. Granted it does not happen often but it does happen.
The last time it happened, was on Friday, I spawned at Kings Snake with the big bounty and it grayed out Kings Snake and Mouses Poultry so me and my boy headed to Seven Sisters. And guess where the bounty was, Seven Sisters.

Edit: I was wrong. It happen on the Desalle map. The first clue grayed out Pearl Plantation and the Bounty was at Heritage Pork. I got video of it too.

yea that's how i play, but i like to get to boss first if i can, points from clues and best ambush spot, before they get bounty, while their fighting.
