Rain makes sound completely awful , which ends up on hunters getting in fights at complete random instead of listening for sound which a key part of hunt

It changes up the gameplay in a fresh and exciting way.

If you go with the lore "in a dying world" there should not be sunshine and rainbow at all.
I highly prefer rain, fog, night and maybe inferno (if they manage, that the fire and clouds are not looking like a game from 1998) over sunshine map.
Next should be a snow map (rocky mountains?) where the "virus/infection" has spreaded. Give us heavy snow. Make footprints visible for a duration of time and a little bit smaller map for performance reasons.
That could be the next step in the right direction. This.. with a boss like a yeti or a bear, puma or a racoon :P
