2- Although I agree that Hunt is going in that direction its down to what is most profitable and what 90% of players want. You and me are the minority here mate. Sorry.
if you want to eliminate 99% of all the weird movement stuff in high mmr and make the game more "realistic" in that sense you just have to remove air control (you can control your hunters movement and direction while in air like in DOOM and Quake).
Its common place at higher MMR, you never peek a corner WITHOUT a jump
You can still bunny hop, just provide a small space between shots
With slow-firing weapons, thats all you need
Yes, 100%, remove air control
Its stupid 1800's characters have thrusters on their characters
Semantics
Players should NOT be relying on "jumping" to dodge a shot when caught in the open
2 the game wasnt really all that punishing to begin with, sure PVE was once stronger but that just made them more annoying than anything else
as for sway i think removing it for the most part was for the best, this game is mostly just long range fights
3 red skull revives is harly a "less punishing" factor as the only way to revive them is to have a bounty token which everyone wants your head and you probably dealt with them already if not your sacraficing 50 hp just to bring a teamate up that is 1 tap to any sort of damage
4 T1 hunters got the 150hp as a part of balancing reasons, if your starting off with this game your basically starting with low tier hunters (which back then you perma lost if you had no hunt dollars at that) so not only were you at a gear disadvantage your max HP was lower too making the game harder to get into while still being very punishing
5 even if the game is more casual that is strictly not a bad thing and doesnt just remove immersion. if our looking for hardcore imersive games i suggest loooking into something like tarkov DayZ or Arma games that are meant to be a realistic simulatiion type of game
the game is growig in popularity because of changews made to the game and it shows the game was basically nothing in 2018 where 2023 its getting a new peak every major update as the game is much easier to get into without removing the real hardcore elements (being the pvp at hand)
Semantics of "bunny hopping"
Any "jumping in combat to avoid hits" is bunny hopping afaic
There is a reason i ended up switching to maining flechettes as I just got sick of dealing with players who would bounce around the open, yet still land hits against someone ACTUALLY using cover/concealment
Its a case of "watering down" the product
And how many of the players that we have now are "because its easier" or because they are finally hearing about it?
Been a player since EA< and the fact is most just never heard of the game, so I am not convinced that "because its easier" is the reason its more popular.
Is this supposed to be a 1-life COD Cowboy shooter?
or a tense, slow paced, almost tactical shooter?
From EA and marketing, its the latter
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
In your first statement, you say:
"1- bunny hopping, it has no place amidst the style, immersion, and gameplay of hunt"
In your very next statement, you say:
"so lets stop the bunny hopping already"
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
QUESTIONS:
IF BUNNY HOPPING DOESN'T HAVE A PLACE IN THE GAME AS YOU STATE, THEN WHAT EXACTLY ARE YOU INSISTING WE STOP DOING?
IF IT DOES, THEN WHAT ARE YOU TELLING US HAS NO PLACE?
AND WHY ARE YOU TELLING PEOPLE HOW THEY SHOULD BE PLAYING THE GAME?
DOESN'T MATTER HOW THE GAMES INTENDED TO BE PLAYED. AS LONG AS A PERSON IS ENJOYING IT. ALL THAT MATTERS. YOU UNDERSTAND THAT?
I MEAN MY GOSH... 2023... ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ AND POSTING CRYTHREADS LITERALLY ABOUT HOW A PLAYER DECIDES TO MOVE OR JUMP A CERTAIN WAY!!! THOUGHT I'D SEEN IT ALL. BUT MAN SOMEONE ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ABOUT HOW A PLAYER DECIDES TO MOVE IN THE GAME.... LOL!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
SUGGESTIONS:
-PLAY FOR YOURSELF.
QUOTE OF THE DAY:
-"A ROBOT IS NOT A HUMAN."
well you surely misunderstand what bunny hopping is in quake then because its not the same thing
which even in that case as i said before jumping is still heavily punished in this game so you barley benefit from it as it was actually patched out long ago so its basically nothing compared to what it once was, same thing with 360 while reviving or similar actions to prevent being headshot
and idk about you but its hardly even seen or done
as for it "watering down the product" simplistic movement to make yourself harder to hit is basically asking the game to play itself for you, go play the new cod if simple movement bugs you
and if your really looking for realism go to like the plenty of other games that are simulating realism like tarkov or arma or DayZ
and as for the player count get this. Why Not BOTH?
no more PVE getting in the way of a battle
no sway rng making the accuracy of your shot be tied to an RNG element
no more punished for failing to pick up the game within your first few matches (yes i know untill your lvl 15 in the bloodline you dont lose hunter but its simply not enough especially when mmr wasnt a thing)
this maks the game much easier to get into and makes fight much more engaging without ruining the element of what makes it so much fun to begin with
and with the game not only being easier to get into but the main focus of te game being more enjoyable this gets more people hooked into the game and because more people are hooked into it much easier the game gains more attention more support which gets more people into the game
because its easier more people are willing to give it a try for longer periods of time allowing them to adjust to the game and be hooked on it
its clear that the choices were healthier for the game which made more people get hooked into the game and suggest it to others increesing its popularity giving it more attention increesing popularity further
the main reason it took so long for a peek to be made for it to be easily reached is because word spread much easier when people could easily get hooked with minimum frustration
a tense slow paced tctical shooter DUH
where does hte game actually discourage stealth? oh right the broken Birds? LMAO
nothing about this game is fast paced and it pretty much demands tactical plays
if sitting in a bush for 20m straight is your definition of tactical then your heavily mistaken
Let them be annoyed by you.
