40GB update. you love to see it.

why cant you just be like a normal game and allow us to download the new files, and the new files ONLY. why the ♥♥♥♥ do we have to essentially reinstall the game with a 40gb update. guess ill get to play the update tomorrow. ffs

edit: according to steamdb there are less than 5GB of new/changed files. in no way shape or form does this call for a complete reinstall of all files.

some people have slow internet causing downloads of such size to take up to an entire day, especially in Germany which is very notorious for awful coverage. you'd think Crytek would know about this since their ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ company is based in Germany.

It's like that with most games on steam, dead by daylight, ark and surely a lot more have the same thing, it's litterally pointless to whine about that

its literally not. 1% of games do this. ANY proper game knows how to properly push updates

dude.. did you even read the patch notes? do you know how much the new weather condition took? how much changed? how much rotjaw takes?

it is better to refresh all game files instead there is some weird issue by bypassing some of them

the game is 2GB bigger than before. yet it is making us install all of it over again.

There has bin many updates that don't require a reinstall of this game, that said there is a ♥♥♥♥ tone of stuff that they had to change so it's better to do it this way for this update.

the engine upgrade, which is not nearly the same as "redoing an entire engine btw" is not this update. its coming later this year or maybe 2024. hence youre braindead

When you push an update to steam you use a steam developer app on your pc. You can push an update that only updates anything that's new or anything that's changed. Maybe the update is large because the rain changes nearly every texture/material in the game? Usually when i push an update to my game on steam the system automatically just handles whats changed, whats new and whats removed. just a guess but probably the rain textures/materials and some core foundation updates?
