How many cheaters?
Hi, I am thinking of getting Tarkov or Hunt, but I dont want Tarkov because of a lot of cheaters. How is Hunt about this?

There are alternatives such as hitting the legs - but it takes a while to kill someone that way and they can use that time to insta kill you - or hitting headshots (assuming your ammo can penetrate their head protection), but other than that you will always be at a disadvantage.
PVP feels like playing Borderlands 3 when you go against bullet-sponge players.
The hardcoreness of Tarkov seems to come from having to farm, which, to me, is not a deciding factor in determining whether a game is hardcore or not.

- Hunt's movement is more arcade than Tarkov, but there's no armour and basic weapons can kill as well as top tier weapons.

- Tarkov is a loot collector game. There's no loot collection / crafting in Hunt. In Hunt, everyone gathers around a boss compound and duck it out trying to kill the boss, get the extraction token, and extracting it without dying. In Tarkov you just go in, collect stuff from wherever, then extract. You dont even need to engage other players if you dont want to.

hunt pretty much has no cheaters in my experience (you can look at my account and comments i play alot), my best tip for you is to look at the kill angle if someone kills you after you die dont just assume its a cheater right away because wallbanging is very common. also this game is just better than tarkov in many aspects also alot cheaper, and yes tarkov may as well be a dead game i quit a long time ago because i couldnt tell anymore if i was getting killed by a cheater or not (played for years even before hunt, high survival rate, high level every wipe, tons of cash and items, high kd).

As a 3-4 stars, you die some really, really weird deaths here. I can't affirm if it were a cheat or not, all I can do is report.

People who 100% know where you are behind a wall (without a bounty or holes or noise). Questionable headshots. 3 stars not missing a single shot and killing your entire squad.

This game is weird sometimes.

Yeah, I am about to buy Hunt first because it is fairly way more cheap and you dont miss important features that otherwise you have to grind.
Tarkov has a serious problem of cheaters and righ now it is said that 60% of games have at least 1 cheater. Also there is a 1h video explaining all of this and people is very angry.

However, I am searching for at the forum and I also find some people in the Hunter reporting cheating in the game...

Its ok if there is not too much...

I read the curve is huge for newcomers. Matchmaking has newcomers in account? or you can match with high level players

Curve is not huge concerning point and click, but for environment and positioning, because the map is complex. So you can compete against a high level if you identify him/her in time (because the color pallet is awesome to camouflage).

More than half of the fights end with a couple of shots, but it's not uncommon you die without a fight, because the two aspects I cited above.

In rare ocasions I get matched with and against 5-6 stars and didn't felt a big difference.

i promise you, unless there is some influx of cheaters literally today, the chances you will run into someone blatantly cheating you is basically none, i do really recommend you get some friends or some people from the official hunt showdown discord to play with though there is alot of nuances to this game you are going to need to learn.

Do keep in mind, from afar walls and buildings don't load in for alot of people. Don't be surprised if someone wallbang snipes you while you're hiding inside a compound.

compared to EFT it's nothing.

you will encounter some, but it's pretty rare. getting more frequent, tho.

in my first 3k hours, I've encountered 4 cheaters (basically zero).

in my last 600hrs, I've encountered around 20'ish. a steep rise, but still playable and nothing compared to EFT. it hightly depends on your selected region.

stay off any server that is frequented by chinese players. so no russia, asia and US West.

and remember, great players can pull off some insane ♥♥♥♥. look at the stats and then make the decision to report.

I have 1300+ hours in the game I can confidently say that I've only encountered probably 3 cheaters in all that time. There will be times where you question how you were killed, but if you play long enough you'll start to realize that sometimes you just get really lucky shots like guessing where someone is behind a wall and getting an unexpected headshot. Also, there are a lot of highly skilled people that play this game that simply know what they are doing.

Ok, thank you. This game has some kind of reset/wipe of experience or level account?

People's experiences are going to differ vastly it seems. Nothing crazy has ever really happened to me, not to say it doesn't happen to others or possibly you.

If I'm facing cheaters, then it's the kind that hide it enough.

I'd confidently say, just like any other game--people falsely crying cheats massively outweigh actual cheaters.

Hello.
I'm about to finish playing Hunt today. It's a game with a good concept and a lot of fun too. Unfortunately, 3 times today a shot directly to the head and the opponent without hitting, so either a cheater or simply a mistake, which cannot still be ignored.

Dude you can't really compare Hunt to Tarkov. Tarkov is very close to a military simulator while Hunt is an arcade shooter. Tho games add more rules than just basic get here and shoot this mechanics.

Pick the game you like, the game where realism heavily matters and game is pretty hard and everybody camps or the game where less realism and lots of arcade elements while still some people camp and ignore giving objectives afraid to lose what? I'm sad I can't answer that.

I dont compare them, but they are similar concept as well as zero sievert or the cycle frontier.

Do you think is important that I get the gold edition? It has some dlcs, but I see the game has a lot dlcs, each one with a new legendary hunter. Hunters are very very different? Im fine wit standard edition or gold edition?
