Corrupt update files !

Hello Hunt team,

I like when Hunt updates come out but everytime for me it is a nightmare as 9/10 times steam will say "Corrupt Files" after finishing do download, patch and verify an update.

In 5/10 cases I need to reinstall the whole game as the update files are showing as corrupted files.

The download, patch and verifying procedure are all done without interruption in one session.

Is anyone else having this issue?

check your disk with crystal disk info. maybe your disc going bad

I've never seen this error before, for any game, and just got it with today's Hunt update.

I just hit the redo update button and it installed correctly and verifying the files passed so hopefully it is good now.

Ever since i bought hunt few months ago Ive had this issue (bought right before 1.11 update).
Have to verify files after every update.
No other game does this

Either an issue with steam or your HDD/SSD, most likely steam though. (Yes, even if it's only Hunt that seems to be doing it. )

I had that message once, it was fixed by verifying the files after the "corrupt message.

I be got not confimed yet solution. Go to game folder change it name, uninstall game on steam, change name of folder back and install game. It will start downloading missing files.

i fought with this issue for awhile, completed reinstalled the game multiple times with no luck, and read a number of forum posts that gave enough clues of what places to look at until i finally figured it out. the issue for me was that, after downloading all the files, it was just failing to actually copy/move them from the "Steam/steamapps/downloading" folder to the "Steam/steamapps/common/Hunt Showdown 1896" folder. i finally just did it myself once i realized the entire game was just sitting in the downloading folder, clicked the refresh button again, and then it verified the files and finally said it was installed. i only copied what was in the directory that was named a long number (where the game files were), not the samelongnumber.patch files.

possibly relevant details: i'm on Debian 12 installing/using the game with proton. launched fine with proton 9 without any extra options set once i fixed the install problem.
