Got 4 kills out of it lol
You could be the best in the server, and still lose so easily. It's one of the few games I know where luck/bad luck trumps "skill".
In a respawn arena shooter you could potentially dominate the server over and over, only dying a few times. Here you usually can't get away with that, especially since you must not die.
It's a casual af game these days, but with an unforgiving core. So people confused that with with skill. There's skill to be had, but the majority of the time it's just a random good fest.
You can play against people worse than you (but there's little indication of that until the death screen, unless they are particularly stupid.) and still struggle. All they have they to is land one body shot each.
You can't afford to miss. Ideally a headshot machine.
I've played solo only since early access.
I dislike the game a lot more than when I first bought it, changed too much, but I'd still recommend it. The game has some server/performance issues you may encounter though.
I believe it is currently the cheapest it has been. I can't be bothered checking, but see if it is cheaper on Crytek's site.
Go for it !
As much as I prefer to play most games solo, this game is HELL to play solo as you are basically signing up for super mega hard mode, tons of perks are suddenly worthless to you as they are aimed at duo play, the bonuses for being solo are useless, you have half the damage, half the health, the fact you have health chunks is completely meaningless as you can't be revived anyway.
So ye you CAN play solo, but mainly if you want to be a sniper on the outskirts, other playstyle really don't work well until you are at least 10x better than everybody else to account for the fact that you'll be going 2 or 3 v 1 in every fight, and just 1 mistake from you ends it all, while they get about 6-12 chances before they run out.
I'd argue this game is more 'balanced around it' than many others because when you random it puts you in a lower matchmaking rank queue. Sure team comms are super important in a game like this, but just saying the matchmaking handles it relatively well.
lol jk didn't realize the solo vs trips is what you were talking. I agree with what you said haha my bad. Solo's I've noticed are usually sniping from across the map and that's not how I want to play.
I'll send you a friend invite. We are always looking for more people to bring into the group, if you're interested and want to play in a team, that is.
