How is KD calculated?
I have literally played games where I get multiple kills, extra without dying... And my KD goes DOWN. I've played games where I get two kills, die only once, and it goes down. I play games where I get entire squad wipes and it goes down.

And, I've played games where I get a single kill and it goes up.

How is KD calculated? Because it's OBVIOUSLY not your kills to death ratio, otherwise it would function as expected.

Is the Formular for determining your „KDA“
You receive an assist if you dealt damage to a player who died with your hit not being healed off.
Even 1hp damage counts as an assist if that 1hp did not get healed at the time of death.
A kill is every final blow onto an enemy player that is not redskulled.
So each time you actually do „remove“ a healthchunk off of a player.
And a death is whenever you die, I am fairly certain deaths to count if you are redskulled, wouldn’t vouch for that tho.

They literally can't do the basic math at Crytek (I know, it's hard to believe, but you see it with your own eyes)

Scrolling over the KD Ratio number, it displays Player Kills, "Killed By Players" (deaths) and Kill Assists. (Player Kills + Kill Assists) / Killed By Players = The correct ratio.

So, the math is correct, but how the numbers seem to be calculated may not be correct, given my limited experience and observation.

Problem with K/D is it’s lifetime… I can die 100 times without a kill and see my kd unchanged lol

Yeah that much I understand but my issue, from experience, is:
1.45 KD
Play a game
Get 2 kills, one assist, get downed once.
This is 3 kills and one death, according to KD math, so my KD should increase as 3:1 is higher than 1.45
My KD on the post-screen decreases

Hence, the post.

Ah understood. Either a bug (not many of them in hunt ;) ) or the people you killed were red skull revives. Iirc they don’t count as “kills”

I've experienced a fair amount of bugs, but I will say it's less buggy than comparable titles.

More you suffer and hate the game - more KD you have.

But you know what? Forget about KD, play for fun.

why do you care about K/D?

It's a useful stat to track my approximate fighting skill in a game all about fighting.

I've seen some terrible players with an above average k/d.

Not quite correct on how assists work. 1.6.2 made assists count based on the distance to the player you damaged. See below:
