penny shot in shotguns? what are they good for?
tried fletch spikes.. love them...
never tried pennies... is it something about them or just a tighter spread/more dmg?

More starting ammo
Harder hitting at close range, shreds more
No penetration whatsoever
More random spread

Very high spread with only 4 high damaging pellets. Extreme RNG cannon, you either 2-tap at 25m or miss everything at 10m even with correct crosshair placement. No penetration, decimates AI and Bosses.

I have noticed its extremely powerful on the terminus levering. Not because you land the kill, but if your opponent gets hit by you. He can't hold you before he has to heal for long. So its a great ammo for pushing someone.

cool i will try it out..
but i wonder how is the springfield compact compared to a normal one? i mean it shoots one at a time,, and i notice it does alot of dmg but i seem to always miss with it.. wonder about that one and a compact dubble barried shotgun cause i was thinking bout spending some blood money on a skin each for them. the other one was a cadwel rival compact.

Pennyshot is absolutely viable, but It's a matter of choice if you like it's properties.

Contra:
less reliable at range due to higher spread and less pellet amount. (this can be negated by using a rival for a quick follow up, a crown and king or terminus levering)

Pro:
extreme overkill damage at close range, this means even if half of the other players body is protected by cover, you can still kill them if you are close enough.
Aim is not always perfect, but with pennyshot you can still kill them even if you miss a few pellets and the remaining pellets hit the arms/legs if you are close enough, due to the crazy amount of damage per pellet.
This means it is still quite reliable at close range at killing players even with glancing shots when the crosshair was somewhat off-center.
It also absolutely shreds all A.I including bosses.

cool, was thinking bout springfield compact aswell i saw some people saying its very good.

i can see the smaler versions of the dubble barried shotgun and the terminus does 100 DMG Less then the big ones.. but i will try them out anyway.. found store skins 1 for all 3 of them wich i like, but never tried these compact versions of any of them.

the biggest drawback of the springfield compact to the longer version is only the sway, but the springfield has a steep damage dropoff anyways so if you are not actively trying to go for headshots (there are better choices) the compact version should be just fine.

the lower damage from the smaller versions is basically "expected damage when shooting from 10 meters at the upper torso"
spread can make this number go higher or lower. All shotguns are lethal when close enough.

So the range of the short barrel shotguns is extremely short anyways, to play around the range limitation (or living with it) you can either double down on the short range and pack pennyshot to make sure that they will be dead when full blasting all pellets from 1 meter distance in their arm, which i saw someone surviving with buckshot, they won't survive this with pennyshot.
or live with the fact that you need 2-3 shots for a kill and take flechette, way better range.
But can be frustrating at times if you get one blasted by a long barrell shotgun.
Alternatively maximize range with slugs, your shots need to be dead center at chest (or head) to be able to do a one shot kill.

I think the more pellets you hit the target with the more it bleeds.

Only use Penny shot on a medium shotgun. You don't lose any range anyway and your usual range is buffed with a likely chance to OHK.
BlackViper Jan 30, 2023 @ 12:49pm
so the dmg the weapons show "any weapon not only shotguns" depends on how close you are or far away?. thats cool never thought bout that.. thank you guys for youre answers and time. <3

Also great for killing all the bosses and you can kill meatheads in 3 shots.

I actually prefer Penny Shot to regular Buckshot even for PvP.
