Knuckle Knife
Is knuckle knife the worst melee tool in the game? kinda feels like they are just worse dusters due to not having the blunt heavy attack

No? It kills immolaters in 4 punches and doesn't have the embarrassing range when you're trying to kill normal zombies or hunters

I only use KK and I have a lot of times where I've killed people with it, even multiple people, as long as you aren't bad, it's basically the same as the normal knife but with better utility (blunt)

I have always thought heavy knife is best. Light attack kills grounds and 6 at least till out of stamina. Reads through wire. I love it. Nice big heavy swing takes out dogs easy. Nothing beat knuckles against imolators I'm just careful around them use up my stamina with my rifle or shotgun.

i mean you only want the dusters to kill something like immulators so the Knuckle Knife is better since it allows you to deal with them without sacrificing your knife utility for desperate measures in pvp

that being said the Knuckle Dusters are mainly used for pve reasons so having access to the heavy helps out against something like an armoured without eating all your stam like the knife does and outside of immulators i find the KK to be rather useless as it does me more harm than good against something like dogs (normally i just 1 tap em to the head but the lowerd damage of KK doesn't do that)

and countering immulators is just a large slot weapon heavy into the face 4 times (stamina being the only real issue)

i found it to be an overrated clutch that only has valuve because a poor pve decision was made by the devs

the KK is okay but its not near as good or truly is the best melee tool to choose from

could technicly say the heavy knife is the best as its just a light to the head against something like a grunt but doesnt lack in damage (just minor range difference that barley matters in all honisty (especially when trading is an issue anyways) and it gives the plus side of cutting barbed wire (instead of having to eat the damage to get your teamate up)

but the good ol knife is the best all around, counters everything but immulators, reliable range, good for pvp and pve

compaired to the KD which is bad for pvp or the heavy knife which lacks range or KK which lacks in damage against pve (slower to kill things etc)

i gave it a good shot to use the KK and it just screws me over in the end and liked ol reliable more anyways

What are your thoughts on heavy knife compared to normal knife? I practically always run heavy knife since its $10 cheaper

maybe you should start ignoring the clutch skill issue item and realise its just a pointless downgrade of the knife that at best sacrifices time for a bit of extra stamina or saves you from a immulator (if you want something to really counter pve use poision bullets on a silenced officer pistol)

the only reason people like it so much is because immulators exist which is bad design choice by the devs on its own

No the throwing knives are. Followed by the knuckle knife. The only reason the knuckle knife is not the worst is because of its "versatility" Now, if we add the throwing to the melee equation than the knuckle knife would be the worst melee tool in the game.

its overhatted but the normal knife is just reliable for any situation (besides immulator)

dogs? 1 tap to the head
grunts? heavy head shot
hive? same as grunt
armoured? 3 heavys
other players? heavy on the head

range? best reach
damage? second best
stamina usage? costly

id compair the pve stats but i dont run the heavy all that much so ill just go off the last 3 lol

range? slightly short (shortest is knuckle dusters i presume)
damage? best
stamina usage? not too bad (especially if you can get away with a light ot he head on dogs or a light to the head on a hive)

anyways stats aside

the heavy knife i dont run much so not much to say (i originally felt the range because i was barly used to the normal knife) but the shorter range doesnt mean much in reality, theres no problem with pve if you get the new timing down and the range does not matter all that much in pvp as your basically getting up in their face to hit the head anyways

the heavy knife gets hate on just because people are so competitive and over think minor differences like range when the heavy knife is more pratical outside of pve compaired to the normal knife or knuckle knife for that matter

TL:DR the shorter range is insignificant and doesnt really matter, i just never botherd to take it as it screwed over my timing against dogs

throwing knifes dont count they are ment to be throwen at pve stuff (or players if you feel like being that risky)

despite technically being a melee weapon that is not its main purpose, its to stealth take down stuff from a distince

ye it do be fine just dont take my word as everything, but as much as the knuckle knife is meta i think its only really new players that run it

me and my well experienced players 9been on this game for multiple years) never even bother to run it
