Mechanics wise, they are pretty equal, if anything gunslinger probably has the advantage as long as you know when to "unshoulder" your weapon (against walls, in bushed, windows, etc). Yea hunter mode has higher FoV but you can change the slider so it's a very small advantage as opposed to not having to press an extra button to aimdown sight and shoot.
Gunslinger used to be objectively worse, but since they adjusted things it is all purely preference.
Most of them are using it have been using it for a long time, and are probably just more experienced in general. They are used to it so are unlikely to change it at this point.
However due to the several changes to gunslinger there is no longer any real advantages to either, it's just preference now.
It used to matter somewhat, but that is no longer the case.
Also in gunslinger I can fire instantly from a sprint which is nice in close quarters.
Other than that there's no difference... you can still raise/lower the gun... you can still melee with anything..
The popular one, now.
There isn't any real difference anymore like there used to be; but a lot of the people who kept using it from the time when it did matter have played a lot longer.
the simple fact is most people use gunslinger because its basic fps controls
The reason hunter Used to be better is because you couldnt disable things with gunslinger like zoom on holsterd weapon and weapon peaking through walls if too close
but now you can disable that annoying FOV effect and you can just hold quick swap to lower the weapon whenever you need it (which is far and few between)
it really is just a matter of preference now but i see no reason anyone should bother with hunter these days
the most likely reason they look better is only because they are most likely an OG player (where the choice actually mattered)
What made hunter so good for a long time was the fact your gun wasn't poking through doors, walls and windows causing someone to wall bang you because you weren't aware your rifle was clipping a whole foot through structures. That was the only real advantage to hunter over gunslinger. Since that update it's all preference.
