Ehhh I agree up until you get teams with 2 or 3, max MMR in it, then it actually becomes a problem. Not so much from a skill standpoint, but a play style standpoint.
6 star matches are very tedious and boring and not fun to play. It's snipers in bushes galore, and teams with long ammo that will never push until it's an absolute 100% guaranteed win- even if that means wall tapping with long ammo for 45 minutes until they get some lucky headshots to whittle you down.
You could play like 3 games in the time some of those matches take.
The reason is because the game MASSIVELY punishes you for dying, and for trying to keep playing. So someone could have a really high KDA and be a low MMR or have a low kda and be a high MMR because none of that matters.
If you get downed and don't disconnect on your team and try to keep playing, if you don't run to extract if you've had one health chunk burned, etc...your KDA and MMR will nosedive- even if you're a good player.
People actually protecting their MMR/KDA is why you get games where you get a bounty but no one ever bothers you- because they already left.
Just forget about the MMR system, it's meaningless and very poorly designed. You shouldn't be going up against 6 stars regularly unless you have a 6 star or 2, 5 star players as your teammates bumping your MMR up enough that the 6s now fall into that +1 -1 area, OR there are just no others playing at that hour so it has to.
It's been about the same but EU servers were rather laggy and disconnecting people recently for some reason, so people in EU were playing on NA because it was more stable.
So folks on EU may have noticed longer queues or more messed up MMR matchups for a period. I dunno if it's still going on or not.
if you're playing at a certain time of day, when there's not a lot of people online on your currently selected servers, be it late at night or early in the morning, sometimes even around noon, you will be placed in lobbies with all kinds of players.
the moment the game cannot "fairly" fill your severs with players, it will go back to the old "better full than fair"-style of match-making.
you can check the current playerbase @:
https://steamcharts.com/app/594650
look at the graph and the change in players within the past 24hrs.
if you wish to have the fairest possible match-making experience, then play the game during peak hours, which is usually between 1800 and 2200hrs or on saturday and sunday afternoon.
you could also change your selected region to one that is probably fuller due to the time of day there.
i'm a 6 star player and i prefer full games over empty ones and I want short match-making timers, so I will constantly switch between several regions in order to get said experience.
there's a massive problem with the ISPs/Server routing in central Europe, especially Germany and France right now. many players will experience pings above 150 during peak hours and have made the switch to Russia or US East, where they will actually have lower pings and a better gameplay experience.
plus Europe is widely known as the campiest and most try-hard region, so players that are looking for a nice fight tend to play on Russian or US servers more often anyways.
or play against teams of invited friends or play against cheaters.
That means that those people are a joke, not the mmr
Their support deadass just told me to "maybe go make some friends" and I've been laughing since. I think this might be a sore spot for them haha.
Maybe this happened, maybe you twisted story, maybe they just get "improvement suggestions" so much that you didn't stand out, maybe they weren't even good ideas, maybe the examples given were wrongly interpreted in thr first place, maybe you failed to write in a manner that raises interest, maybe maybe maybe....
You get the idea
No story to twist, just thoughts and suggestions.
Unless you mean my claim, in which not twisted but grossly exaggerated for humour- absolutely.
They definitely were being passive aggressive but it was slipped into an otherwise polite cookie cutter response.
But it doesn't matter, point is I don't see much getting changed with the MMR anytime soon if at all, because I don't think they have the player base to support a stricter MMR.
Just hoping they sort out how the MMR adjustments are made to individuals in the first place, and how the deviation of MMR among 3 mixed MMR folks is applied. That would be enough probably.
We'll see though. I've seen games with far worse systems, at least hunt is functional as is.
Most 6 star players I play against (including me) are constantly running around trying to out position each other. It's a death trap camping in one spot.
