We don’t need p2w crap like charms, whichever advantage you have, no matter how big, is still an advantage.
So let the dlcs stay cosmetic and free of choice only
but if everyone can have, its just a custom way of playing, no?
from dead by daylight experience having none essential things behind a pay wall can still really hurt the players experience
although most charecters in dbd can be unlocked with its f2p currency
it takes 9k shards to unlock a character which is time consuming then you have to level them up
just to get perks that belongs to a certain killer to then have to spend time levelling up the character and some of the characters in the game are licensed so they have to be bought by dlc
to counteract that they have this shrine system that allows 4 random perks for 2k shards
this poor system and the perks being paywall based really hinders a players experience giving a somewhat pay to win advantage as its much easier to unlock perks etc
while most perks aren't that beneficial a lot of the better perks in the end came from these new charecter dlc and that massivly hinderd a players experience being limited to weaker perks
if hunt showdown in any way had the same system it could throw the balance off course and start to give unfair advantages as minor as they are this would just create the same problem dead by daylight has making some charms become meta etc
that would kinda ruin the game
"but if everyone can have, its just a custom way of playing, no?"
Are you going to pay for the charm for the entire playerbase? Otherwise it's a no.
I do think it should tell you that a charm/what charm is equipped to a weapon and that should be public info.
Then give our various achievement charms, just like with the event ones. "Get this charm for hitting 6 star MMR" or something for example.
Then even if you have some bad games and drop to 4 star but have that on your gun, people can see "oh hey yeah, they have been 6 star so they are probably better than the current MMR suggests maybe" maybe not but it would help with things.
LMAO charms are only cosmetic
i can see that working too.
ppl, calm down! youre acting like im annoucing a new feature in the game. im just collecting you opinions: can you see another use for those charms? Echorion suggested one.
im truly not into them because i think theyre useless as they are.
Then folks would see things like
"Silver Hunt Dollar Charm: This charm is awarded to hunters that have acquired 250,000 Hunt dollars in their careers"
"Gold Hunt Dollar charm: This charm is awarded to hunters that have acquired one million hunt dollars in their careers"
"Bullet in Skull Charm: This charm is awarded to hunters that have head shot X amount of hunters"
I dunno what all for exactly- but you get my point.
I think keeping them all as a purchase thing anyone can get, that shows for no one except yourself, and more often than not just gets in the way of your sights view- is rather pointless. Some should be important, tokens of an achievement.
i don't understand why so many people are into this...
this dangling
first of all im not mad i just think its a bad idea with personal experience from dbd (charms may not be the same as perks / traits but can have a simmaler knock on effect of limiting builds / loadouts etc)
secondly i dont like charms as they are now nor do i really care about weapon skins either
like i aint wasting 25 blood bonds just to clean dirt off my weapon that im gonna lose anyways
So long as it's cosmetic, I don't care.
but the moment it's statistical, and I MUST have it to get benefits, yeah, crap hanging off your weapon while aiming? really?
For legendary hunters? Well lets think it over! I don't think this would be worth the implementation effort, but still nice to have.
If every legendary gets a small buff, like really minor things, for example:
5% faster reload time for single shot rifles
10% more melee damage with brawler weapon variants
last health bar has 55HP
1 extra throwing knife/blank fire decoy
And to skip a big balancing act or some hunters being more valuable than others, just randomize it: whenever a legendary hunter gets picked, he gets one of these special "traits" from a pool.
And finally, to increase the diversity of hunters again: allow every legendary hunter to have one of these traits only once a day, or once a week. This way people would pick hunters again that they bought 3 years ago.
Ofc people would cry again how gamebreaking that would be, just like the beetle. But would it really? It's something to collect over time to make some games tiny bit easier, but pales in comparison to normal traits.
No thank you, the game and it’s damage is designed around 150, not more.
Please crytek don’t ever listen to that
