Hunt showdown ♥♥♥♥♥ optimization strikes again.

For me (5950x ; 6900xt)this worked:
Dont use full screen, neither of the two.
And I capped at 72fps (i play at 4K Max Settings stable, rarely dropping to 60 or lower)

Before I capped I had in between 40 and 130, but the cap worked.
No vsync any kind of buffer

Edit: so I play at 4K on a 4K monitor in borderless window mode

The only way to get even somewhat stable 140fps or more is on lower resolution. Even with lower resolution you will still get frame drops. This game is cobbled together on top of poor framework and an over engineered game engine. Literally unfixable without rewriting the entire game more or less.

You get stable 140+ FPS by looking at the sky. Sky showdown

You would get a straight answer if you asked tech support that question. Or even over on the Hunt discord. This topic comes up often, and there is various causes.

72 FPS, wow :)
72 stable is more than fine - yes I would prefer 100+, but if I have to choose between really stable 72 and unstable 40 to 130, I take the stable 72

Turn object detail to medium or low.
Terminal Velocity Aug 6, 2022 @ 12:46pm
Dont worry, the game is not well optimised.

I recently upgraded to a 5950X, and I own a 3090, and only NOW I can get sustained 144fps at 1440p with all details in MAX, *most of the time*. And even now it still drops very frequently.

check, your ram just to see if you accidentaly disabled the xmp profile

the framedrops are mostly engine/net-code related but if you keep the gpu load around 80% there are usually very few drops- I ude a 5900x with a 3080 ad no issues to keep 144 fps but I avoid using too mutch the high settings expection made for the opbjetct detain and textures, the rest just add useless load on the system (maybe the lighting can help on hight when you are facing the sun but that's it)
