Hunt: Showdown 1896

Hunt: Showdown 1896

All regions blocked.
Not sure as to why, or what's happening, I saw a thread from 5 days ago somewhere stating it was a bug with the ping system the game uses, but quite literally EVERY server region is blocked.

I know the instability of mobile data connections, I personally use a Google Pixel 6 Pro tethered to my PC on a T-Mobile 5G connection, it's not typically terrible but has some downsides every now and then, just not sure as to why this blocks everything (ports maybe?).

If anyone that also uses cellphone connections to help me figure out a workaround that'd be awesome.

I currently use easytether to tether to my PC, so that may be some form of impact as it's tunneling the computer's data through the phone's connection itself, which is what I'm assuming is causing this with the ports.

However, in the past, this was not an issue, and has only been happening recently.

Many thanks.

Could be bug.

As for your connection. Get a proper internet connection, if you plan to play online games. Players around the world will thank you for this.
hunt's servers have always been prone to lag and packet loss for many of us. this new region ping lock exacerbates the problem by locking you out of your closest hunt server.

it happens to me everyday and i can only connect to my server when my ping and packets to hunts server stabilize.

it sucks, but not much we can do except hope crytek will have a heart and give us a better server provider besides leaseweb.

if you can, trace your ping and packets to hunt's server provider leaseweb. if your isssue is like mine, you'll find the last hop directly into leasewebs servers is the problem.

ive actually been forced to use a vpn to get lower ping and more consistent packet transfers. otherwise, hunt would be an even bigger headache to play. no other game forces me to use a vpn like hunt.

My ping isn't atrocious in many games that I play in that are online-based, funnily enough my connection is actually quite stable, with the times of which I do 'lag' just leading me to fully disconnect me long enough to actually have the game remove me, so other people wouldn't have any other form of an opinion.
(Though this issue is mostly fixed in the Android 13 beta I'm currently enrolled in, I still get these periods where my connection drops for 2 minutes or so).

I'll look into this, hopefully I can solve it with something simple as that, I'l go through and ping everything directly and see the outcome.

I may post back here in a few days, though I'm not entirely sure as I'm currently in the process of attempting to buy a new GPU and go back to hackintoshes, I just play this when I have windows installed. ^^

Get internet, it´s such an easy solution.

And yes, Hunt server do suck, that´s not questionable... but playing on mobile internet just to lag around, jesus...

In how many of your games, your connection is stable? 5/10, 9/10?

What do you view as "atrocious" ping? Based on my years of gaming, I can tell you that above 100 was bad, 120+ was an acceptable necessity (sometimes) and above 140-150 was atrocious.
Ping is just a part of the problem. There's a packet loss, latency etc. Do you actually test your connection periodically, or tested it in the past? I've heard people mentioning their amazing wi-fi connection, with low ping, but test results had packet losses.

There was a video on YouTube, from the game developer (I think it was Skullgirls), where he explained why wi-fi is a taboo for gaming. Mobile internet is on another level...
Stable means, always same or close ping, no packet losses or any kind of delays. This is only acceptable choice.
If games kick you, then your connection must be really terrible. Never seen that happening. People lag, teleport etc, but still remain on the server.

Many players with basic knowledge of connection, and experience in online games, do have a stance in this matter. Results of poor connection can vary from game to game. Popular examples can include, teleports/delayed actions and hit registration problems (I mean how can you hit something, that isn't actually there?) What is common between them, is negative experience for the other side. Unless you live in a war zone, then it's probably an ignorance (or just being selfish).

Hunt servers are piece of ♥♥♥♥, it's true, but the players aren't saints either. I can guarantee, that the source of many complains, is on the client side.

From yersteday i have more ms than normal, this game is broken. I usually have 50 ms in SA and 170 ms in NA. Now i have 130 ms in SA nad 160 ms in NA. The only game who give this kind of problems, nice crytek, i hope you are making the next event :)

I'm aware above 100 is where most games usually begin having delays and 'lag' would actually occur, I played CS on this connection for the longest time and other mobile cellphone connections prior to what I'm using now, then again I also live less than an hour away from the ATL cluster for CS:GO, had no issues playing CS:GO, and my ping was typically under 75 via netgraph.

Packet loss is another thing, which is a wacky concept in this case, because PL only occurs on voice programs, unless y'know, something begins blocking signals like a heavy storm or otherwise, but usually doesn't become prevalent in the game sides of things at least to my knowledge, people never really complained about me unless it was where I fully disconnected (which is a bug, on Pixel 6 phones, hence why it's not the mobile connection..), as for how many games, all of them, because I wouldn't play unless my connection was stable, I cannot stand rubberbanding to even a slight degree.

And no, as for where I live, I live deep in the woods, where my only other option is a DSL line, so I'd definitely rather pay far less than that DSL line for an unlimited data plan to get 600Mbps down/50Mbps up on my phone.

As for this ordeal though, this is the ONLY game where this occurs, and is the ONLY game that has completely blocked me (100% blocked all servers) from playing. No other game has done this since I've used mobile connections for roughly 7 years now.

(Not to mention this game ran perfectly fine prior to whatever changes have recently happened, and I was actively playing it with no issues, on my mobile connection)
