Getting used to using all kinds of weapons
Don't be afraid to play aggressive, being stealthy sometimes doesn't help
always carry adrenaline and healing syringes, the explosives can be easily replenished during the game

Get good with scottfield + FMJ
Get good with pistols in general. The best ones are Conversion, Nagant officer and scottfield.
The conversion pistol with FMJ is the best gun in the game IMO.
The officer is a monster in close quarters and is always the pistol I bring with a long ammo rifle.
Getting god tier with your pistol allows you to not rely on long ammo meta. Good ole Romero / conversion+FMJ loadout with 4 small health shots. Super cheap and effective.
Running around with a mosin/lebel is the sweaty way to play, however as soon as you come up to shotgun player in a lair that refuse to push out, your in trouble.
This is why you shouldn't rely on OP weapons to much, You'll see bad players crying about "shotgun campers" all the time but truth is these people crying are camping aswell, literally doing the exact same thing the shotgun players are doing. Refusing to push at a disadvantage.
Its best to bring a loadout that can do the best of both worlds.
Shotgun + pistol/fmj is always safe and allows you to face all situations.
But you properly died before you even had any chances of reaction

Sound Matters, So -
- Avoid red cages full of dogs/Chickens. These will give away your Position.
- Don't go too close to Horses/Crows/Chickens. These will alert people to where you are.
- Take a melee tool to kill NPC's. Dont fire your gun unless you absolutely have too.
- Don't sprint up to compounds. Sprinting is Audible at very far distances.
- Gauge whether it's better to kill an NPC or leave it and sneak by.
- Hanging chains, cans on the ground, glass will all alert NPC's and players nearby.
Combat Wise -
- There is no 'best gun'. Don't pay attention to anyone telling you what is best. learn what's best for you. What you play poorly with, and what you play better with.
- Know when to crouch and when to move. If people don't know where you are. Sneak around. If people know where you are. NEVER Crouch., Just makes you easier to Hit.
- Avoid going near Red/Green/Yellow barrels.
- Push an advantage. if you hit someone and they go for cover. Follow them. Get them down.
- DONT get baited. if someone has a shotgun or Dual Wield pistols, They will try to lead you into cover.
Other Little bits.
- Explore compounds thoroughly for extra consumables, envelopes, Blueprints, Pouches. All will give you extras.
- Don't take your eye off downed Hunters. Their friends will revive them. It's always a good idea to Burn their body or cover them in Concertina wire
- Trip Wires. sometimes your best Friend. Sometimes your worst enemy. If you're nearing the Boss compound and someone else has banished them. Keep an eye on the floor.
- melee weapons that you find on the ground are the best way to silently kill Bounty Monsters.
There's probably a lot of other things but this is some of the best advice I can think of.
