Hit them with a 2 or 3 lanterns first then it doesn't take as much ammo. Also get Serpent trait if you can, so that you can take clues from a distance.

Or you can melee a leech so it'll run towards you away from the clue. Then you loopback around and get the clue. Even if a leech gets you, it should be more than enough to take a hit and run using world medkits to heal after.

Also, weakpoint on meatheads are their legs or the worms on the left side of their chest.

go in with silence pistol and silence windfeild with both having fanning and levering will easy kill them also just unload both weapons on it and it should die after that XD no sounds needed and you dont get hurt doing it :D

or just kill it with explosives and just deal with whoever comes to check out the noise always love bring hunters to me

It takes 14 heavy hits with a saber, 8 heavy hits with an axe, or a lot of the times meatheads spawn near a red barrel - lure them to there and then destroy the barrel

quickest way so far seems to be useing a bomb lance.

also If you're on a team have one player run in, aggro him and run away so another can simply step in and get the clue.

There are multiple tactics.
-Your teammate lures them away
-Poison darts and bombs
-hit them with an axe/hammer then lure them yourself

If you dont want to shoot at all, go to another clue. Or lure him away first.

If you run over a leech it will squeak and the meathead will go there. They don't poison you if you run over them. Something I learned after 700 hours...
