I am really tired of instead of actually trying to figure out why something gets picked so much and balance or its competitors or give proper alternatives.... they just hike up the price.
I myself have nearly 80K saved up in hunt dollars but even I think thats silly because this ends up heavily hurting people who prestige or die a lot. So unless you are an absolute chad or play extremely passive.... the price hikes are just designed to realistically hurt people on the lower end of money.
I'm not much of a mosin sniper or lebel marksman player but those price hikes are pretty crazy too but thats a bit more reasonable since you are expected to live longer by sniping but now you absolutely reinforce why people should just run away when getting shot at instead of engage because their weapons are A LOT more expensive.
This goes for the shotgun increases too.... thats pretty silly to me as well. I'm not a shotgunner, I'm terrible with them. I prefer the officer carbine or sparks but even I dont agree... this just hurts people who prestige or die a lot...
Ugh.... yeah all of that while increases in traits.... doctor 9, beastface 4, gatorlegs 3, greyhound 5, etc etc on top of a UAV coming in.....
If this update doesn't make me quit it sure as hell is pushing me to the brink of quitting. :|
some of the gun balance changes are alright, but thats about it.
with that said, gatorlegs 3 is the most braindead, no thought, ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ change I have seen a gaming company make in a while.
"lets take a perfectly balanced trait and price it in a way that runs that"
but i guess that sums up a lot of cryteks decisions.
Very disapointed in this patch so far.. and that silly beetle will not make it better for me.

Getting to the point where this game is basically unplayable on a medium range computer and is more demanding then the new COD

but at the SAME TIME they reduce the price for spitzer, slugs & high velocity ammo?
While increasing the default HS range for compact ammo as well?

As for the mosin sniper and marks lebel getting a prince increase. Well its about time. The best and strongest weapons should be the most expensive.
However what I dont get is why the price for spitzer and high velocity gets a price decrease? And the slug price decrease is just dumb.
all in all I am mostly positive and I like that Crytek finally dare touch the stale years old meta.
As for the beetle I really dont know. I can see what they are going for but I fear that it just turns Hunt into a bunch of sweat teams all just sitting in a bush flying around with their beetles and ping for that spitzer kill.

So yes something had to be done
And that something couldn't have been actual nerfs or buffs around it?
Or give it an actual competitor.....
The reason it became 90% picked was because it was the only long ammo choice for a pistol and adding a sparks pistol doesn't resolve that issue because you arent really making it a competing pistol since its a very slow reload with 1 shot.
The solution is to either buff medium pistols with range and velocity, maybe mess with the upper with velocity or its range..... or something actually meaningful.
Making it from 275 to being 414... making it MORE expensive than a basic lebel is not how you make a balance to it.
This only hurts newer players, players who die a lot, or prestigers. Anyone with a bankroll or good players aren't going to be impacted much by this so what is the damn point?
