Second, yea this is why this game is dying (or already dead) because it doesn't meet majority people demand (fast game play, optimization, bugs free, better server and better weapons balance). This game full of middle aged males who can't aim so they have to rely on easy to master weapons like shotguns. I don't play this game majority of my time but this game is getting worse, slower gameplay, server issues and more bugs
I used to play with shotguns when I first started off because I love shotguns in most games but I suffered greatly because of it. Many people call em RNG cannons and I agree because they're insanely unreliable. I literally get more kills with the Saber than I do with shotgun runs. I became so much better once I learned how to use a riffle and my experience with starting off with shotguns lets me know what I need to do against them (by observing myself and other player's reactions; hence learning to adapt which is what this game is all about).
Many of the people I encounter know how to counter-play shotgunners by verifying what weapon I shoot with and then they play according. After that they have the upper-hand because they know not to get close and I'm stuck using my pistol while they look for good opportunities to gun me down from.
Just because you don't know how to play against shotguns doesn't mean it's too OP. It means you're just being stubborn and defiant.
dieyngin any way, the player base keep increasing, sure it is a slow and small increase but it is still here, and beside you don't need 128 players to to fill a lobby since the maps only take 12^^. a part for the performace issue I think that the game is improved and they do expand it slowly wile trying to keep it's core so it doesn't turn in another cod fortnite halo ecc.., because If the majority really whanted to play on games like that they would simply drop this game and go there, and middle ages people play on this game because the high risk high reward stile that this game have is more satisfing hant installing a game like Halo and be on the top of the scoreboard since the first game they play (that was very frustrating)
Yes and no. The game takes place in 1895, the first successful slug did not exist until 1898. That aside, these shotguns would be smoothbore barrels and given the pumpkin ball ammunition they would be horribly inaccurate. Effective range for a slug would've been 30-40m. At 100, you would be lucky to land a hit on your target. 100 to 250 effective range would only apply to modern rifled barrels shooting sabot slug rounds.
General state of shotguns -
Are they nerfed? Yes
OP? No. Anything beyond 25m excluding C/K and you will two tap that shotgun player more quickly if all other variables equal.
Accurate portrayel? Kind of. Powerful but too accurate. The 25m range seems like a good balance for the pinpoint accuracy they have.
Cheers.
Oh yea, 100% fair points. My mind was thinking modern shotguns. Weren't the shells also made of basically paper back then? Since they didn't really have plastic at the time. So if they got all wet, from say... trudging through the swamp, they'd be basically useless?
Yes with a caveat.
1870'ish they were made of a paper/card casing with a brass base. Paper/card shells when wet would lead to a higher percentage chance of a misfire or jams. But, since we aren't recreating 100% historical accuracy it wouldn't make sense to have them not work.
Any gun/ammo dragged through a dirty thick swamp would lead to higher chances of misfire/jams.
Given that this is a game though, jamming/misfires etc would be pretty frustrating.
We come back to our main topic, we all agree that slug need to be nerfed right? shotguns for noobs and old people who can't aim, don't you agree?
As I already stated. No. They are already in a pretty good place. By the nature that slugs work, you have to aim. Cheers.
